'Here' is out with the native life ...
Moved out in the middle of no where to begin taking care of my quickly aging parents. The sacrafice was to leave 'sub' living near the vineyards but the pay off is being able to have my parents spend more of their time at 'home' with the kids checking in on them.
I have tried some of the local young wines but let's just say they do not compare. If I would have know then what I know now I would have visted every winery for a case or two before we moved. Okay ... now that sounds like a lush!

Shawn - I've tried a lot of the recps in the book. The ones I've done have been pretty good. I can usually tell by the ingredients if we are going to like it, so I tend to stay away from the "yucky ones" (to quote my 6 yr old daughter!).

CC- I don't use the pre packaged ones - the salt content is out of this world!! They also tend to be rather expensive.....

Sorry, read the slogan - it doesn't pay... ;) Nice to see that you can still throw out a solid salute when you need to.

I got a thank you card from a 2nd grader once that said, "Thank you for being our librarian. Why do you not get paid?" I can only imagine what the teacher said to her class to prompt that note! The best part was the picture he drew of me.

I've never tried the prepackaged crockpot stuff but would be interested to know how it tastes.

Silver - where is 'here' - in general? I'm a coumadin patient now so I'm just a virtual drinker. But back in the day I loved a nice glass of Yellow Tail Shiraz. It's reasonably priced, easy to find and is a nice, smooth wine.
