Xanadu?!?! That's too funny.

Speaking of 80's & Halloween~ I rocked my frosted blonde, dark root mullet wig last night @ sil's Halloween party. Yikes-hot & itchy. I did get lots of comments like "I really like your hair short like that" & "It looks so natural!" Not to mention "What are you supposed to be, my high school girlfriend?" Wow, what is this world coming to?! I punked out about 2hrs. into the party~ the wig, leggings & scrunch socks w/dress shoes were just too hot & I went back to my jeans & real hair. Kept the exsisive blue eyeshadow & very fierce dark blush. The kids had a blast, although my 3yr. old lost most of her princess costume, too. I think I have carpel-tunnel (sp?) from all the rushed sewing to get all the costumes done in time. Oh well, fashion before comfort, right?

T-ONL was just here doing a concert. Haven't seen the movie in a million years. Speaking of 80's, I listen to the 80's channel on Sirius and my kids think it's the pop music channel. Considering how many Madonna songs have been sampled and fashions revisited lately, it's pretty much the current channel.
We had great weather here today, started out cool, warmed up around noon and got a little chilly around dusk. With all the Halloween stuff going on and leaves flying everywhere, it was the perfect fall day.

The irony of commitment is that it’s deeply liberating-in work, in play, in love. The act frees you from the tyranny of your internal critic, from the fear that likes to dress itself up and parade around as rational hesitation. To commit is to remove your head as the barrier to your life. --Anne Morris

80's flash back!
My girls and I just watched Xanadu - does anyone remember the movie (disco/roller skating/ Olivia Newton John)? How geekie am I - I rememberd almost all of the songs! But the girls loved it (they are big ONJ fans - they adore Grease) and I had a blast watching it with them. It's so much fun to share with them bits of my childhood and watch their reactions.

Hope everyones weather is better then ours - massive winds and COLD!

T, there will always be somebody-and hopefully there is a somebody to help you through it, as well.
Shawn, I love warm weather, but fall here is beautiful and 50's-60's are very tolerable. We just load up on the wood in the pit in the backyard and roast dogs just as well as in July.
We get to have our first Halloween parade and parties in years at our school so I've been busy buying stuff and planning activities. It's too bad we can only be one place at a time because I've got more than one child!
Tonight we went to our first Trunk or Treat. It was such a blast. We ran out of candy after 45 minutes so my kids were putting the candy they got in the bowl. I have no idea why Halloween events are so popular here, but you can't jump without finding something to do all weekend. For once, I think the costumes will be worth their money because the kids will be living in them until Tuesday night.
My youngest is still in the phase where stuff he does and says is cute. Tonight he told a man he was Spiderman (which he was). When the man said, "You are a good Spiderman," he said, "I'm not Spiderman, I'm Nathan." The poor man looked very confused. The backgroud to this is we keep mixing up the names of the younger two and the oldest corrects us but the youngest wouldn't until the other night he just yelled at my husband, "No, I'm Nathan" while pointing to himself, so people keep teasing him now to see him blowup.
I need to get up early to go to the farmer's market for some pumpkins to carve and apples to dunk so have a good night.
