Ran across this site when researching pe in schools. Apparently the states each set their own pe standards & some states have no standards at all. I just skimmed it, but it appears that school districts are the only ones that can create "time" standards.

It is kind of interesting if you want to check it out.

well, if your middle school is like ours, the have PE everyday for a ful quarter. That probably covers the minimum requirement.

If there are 180 days in the school year, and the elementary kids go once a week, then they go to PE about 36 times, right?

Well, based on that, the middle schoolers go to PE one 1/4 of the year, or 9 weeks in a row, 5 days a week. So, they actually have PE 45 times, which is more than the elementary kids!

I thought it was some sort of law that kids had to have X # of pe hours per week~ maybe it varies from state to state. 1 quarter? That is awful!

I definately feel better after blazing through the hills at a high rate of speed (only myself) with the radio cranked. Nothing like a few good singing songs to lift your spirits & thank goodness the '5 o' wasn't around!

The time of year is definately a stressor. Combine that with things .... well let's just say "coming off the rails" ... hearing so much from all areas it's trying on a volunteer.
Thanks for being there & I am off to a movie with the fam ...

Planes, Trains and Automobiles - Steve Martin and John Candy - Hilarious!

My son votes for any of the Austin Powers movies.

Silver - Sorry to hear you're having a lousy day. It seems that it's just about this time of year that parent group leaders hit a brick wall. The mad rush of the start of school year stuff is not quite over and the holidays are right around the corner. Aye yi yi
