I have so much fun with them. :D

I've helped friends do them for years - the hardest part for me is coming up with the cake. But once I have the idea - the fun begins for me! I love trying to figure out what will "make" an item (such as oreos for wheels, etc).

Peach Daquiris?!?!?! How'd I miss those? Any left? ;)

d - another huge hit tonight. I made the marinated flank steak. Mmmmmmmm That's going to be a new favorite. I served it with steamed veggies and potatoes. Delicious! Tomorrow we'll try LUV's pork loin recipe. MIL's visit is so great. I want to be just like her when I grow up!

So funny T and GaMom! Lots of members from my last group know who I am (hey ladies!). They say they know more about me from reading my posts than from the regular face-to-face interactions.

I'm officially Cool Mom today. Our son's 13th birthday party at the local paint ball field was a huge success. I even got out on the field for one round. I got blasted. Dad was the big hero because he got the most reluctant (read: scared to death) child out on the field and having fun. And the funnest part? The owners are an Italian family from Chicago so the Italian Beef sandwiches we ordered for lunch were authentic and so delicious that my eyes almost welled up with happiness. Now we all can't wait to go back!

GaMom - mater is soo great. You could make him out of cake (in a bread pan for the rectangle body), oreos for the wheels, pretzel rods (minus the salt) for the arm on his tow truck arm. Just think what candies or cookies are the shape of his body parts. Little food coloring a voila: a mater cake!

lu - I would love to see the monkey cake! I also make those kind of cakes = have done a barbie by the pool (lots of fun! just a cake with the center cut out and blue jello cubes in it. Used starburst to make the "pavers" and bought lots of barbie pool toys to decorate around it). I love making the cakes to fit the theme of my girls parties - I get to go crazy!

CC - the visit with your mil must be rockin! Haven't heard much from you in the last couple of days.

Scott--i know how you feel, we have our carnival on the 21st, a saturday that we begged to do it on, and now we are overwhelmed because typically our carnivals are about 2-3 hours long and at night, so our planning is so scattered, we have gone back and forth on the # of hotdogs and drinks a dozen times. :( But you know, it is fun making all the fliers and buying all the prizes (btw, goodtimesattractions.com has great prices on small prizes in grosses!!!) and it will be done and over before we know it. YOURS WILL BE GREAT!!! This time next week, you'll be thinking, gosh where did the time go, now we have to get ready for santa secret shop! We have a lady coming to make funnel cakes and that is my motivation!!! Come to think of it, i was kinda skinny before getting involved in PTO stuff ;)

hey lu--a monkey cake??? at first I thought you were talking about monkey bread.....never seen a monkey cake i don't think. i've done a spongebob cake and a spongebob pumpkin (called him squashbob). My youngest likes the movie Cars and says he wants a Mater birthday. Now exactly how do you do that????

CC--you are not too chatty!!! And D-you totally rock on the posts! Everyone has been super great and welcoming. I wouldn't have made it this long without all the help!! BTW--anyone heard from Peg on corporal punishment lately??

Shawn--peach daquiri's!!!! oh my gosh--i haven't been to church with a hangover in about 10 years. i felt like a teenager again!
