Oh, I love hush puppies and now fried bread too.... but catfish? No thanks! Do you know they live in the mud in the bottom of the river?!?!?! Lots of people love it though. I live down the road from the Catfish Cabin - a southern gem with a giant, flashing, blue neon catfish out front. The parking lot is always full!

Oh, yeah, and we stopped at Stan's in Columbia, TN last weekend. Had the yummy beef stew that came with kracklin' bread. Do you know what that is? Corn bread with fried pig skin mixed right into the batter. I've only recently given up my vegetarian ways and I'm wading back into carnivore status. I draw the line at fried pig skin.

Now I just know I'm going to have to go back for more of that fried bread. I wish I'd never found out about that!!!

oh CC - you don't know how much reading your post about good southern fried bread made my mouth water! Add to it some hush puppies (PLEASE tell me you've had some) and fried catfish, some fried oakra and we have us a good 'ol fish fry! Little butta, tarter sauce and lemon - let's not forget the sweet tea and we will be good to go!

Note to all you sweet tea drinkers out there = the Mickey D's new sweet tea is AWSOME! Little weak (true to my roots needs to be strong), but delish. Give it a try! ;)

Oh beignets, say it isn't so. Legal is overrated. Why don't you just use beignets&coffee? It's a good one.

Boy oh boy was hubby excited to see the new grill! He said, "You mean we can have burgers on the grill again?" I guess I know what we're doing for lunch saturday. It's nice to know that after all the crazy things in life, a simple pleasure still works!

Mmmmmm, butta. You know what they have a Captain D's? Fried bread! I was so proud of myself for ordering the glazed fish w/broccoli, green beans and rice and it comes with fried bread! So, of course, I ate it. Mmmmm

My youngest went on a veggie strike and would only eat carrots and lettuce (sp?) for a couple of weeks . She was orange and VERY regular for awhile!

Real butter - not that fako stuff most of the world seems to love! Show me the creamy butter! Little lemon on the side would do just fine.
