heres another, instead of candied apples (since we are talking about school here so apples fit), give choc-liqueur laced chocolate covered apples to the staff that assigns classes!! (apples dont melt, popsicles do.)

Wed I was also at the school forever and go back tomorrow. The middle school science teaceher sat with me for a while to talk about Athlectics and we had a blast but I was excasted when he left!
Our sec. is also a teacher so her kids were atthe school. The oldest in high school sat with me and began to tell me he wasn't returning (high school closer to home and he has a job with his Uncle) so I was happy for him and thought nothing of it until tonight. I called the Secretary to see if she could sit at our table in the afternoon so I can register my crew. She is finally gettinginto her new classroom and is sorry she can't help but will loan me her son...the one not coming back. I told her I didn't think that would be approrate to have a student that won't be attending our school asking for volunteers and he had a hard time speaking kind words abotu the school to passing families!
Now I feel bad but not really bad. I just hope she sees I don't hate her son just thought it would look bad. SO I'm leaving the table with a sign (thanks Luv, you reminded me!) "Out registering our children today blah blah" .

She wants to help SO bad, but not right now.

Couple weeks ago the hubby was invited to a preview night at a new resturant. We invited our neighboors and had a great tiem! Drinks from the bar were half off so we ordered a round. I WAS THE ONLY ONE IDed!!! All I had in my pocket was my credit card and the invite so I smiled and ordered a Shirley Temple. My husband laughed (great guy) and our neighbors kept telling the hostess "She has 5 kids! SHE NEEDS a drink!" Bless their hearts! Oh yeah, dinner was amazing! Our entire bill (less then $40) was what one entree will cost when they open! We had a great time!

OK, it's a party now that Shawn and a OK are here. Wish dlf and PTOCES were around......

Moonshine, huh? I'll bet I can find some of that here in the hills.

a OK - Chocolate Martini Popscicles!!!! That's why we all love you so much!

ScottMom - my son had a "bully girl" (as he called her) in his fourth grade class. Once I put a bug in the teacher's ear about Princess's tactics, it all came to a screeching halt. We can't always choose who our children have to interact with every day but we can try to give them the tools to help themselves.

LUV - I have a great idea. Let's start a 12 step club for PTO addicts. You be President, I'll be VP. dlf can do all of our publicity! Shawn can be the "Hospitality Chairman". a OK can draft the bylaws. All of the Social board posters will be charter members. Ooooohhh noooooo, wait just one minute. That sounds exaclty like what we're trying to run away from. I guess Shawn is right. Once an addict..... Well, it sounded like fun.

scottmom, bring some of CCs choc maritinis to the teahcer and principal or whoever assigns classes
maybe freeze portions in a popscile maker, for easy serving sizes. that shouldmake em happy and remember you over summertime when writng up whose in whose class.
oh and for good measure , on the wooden popsicle stick that you put in the holder before the stuff freezes, you write your request in permanent marker (kind of thelike the joke popsiciles, finishthe pop and read a joke on the stick) that way each time they finish one, they will get a nice reminder of your wish!!!

I'll trade you 20 Margaritas for your moonshine
'Cause I like to have a party all the time
I'll trade you 20 margaritas for your moonshine
'Cause I hear that stuff can really blow your mind

Now Jose and Billy became the best of buddies
And rasied a lot of hell around the world
But they'll never drink and drive cause they wanna stay alive
And have time to kiss all the lovely girls

LUV -- once and addict always and addict ;) -- moderation is the only hope :D

CC -- I sold my mustang awhile back so now 'white horse' anymore (its was california gold) :(
SO I'm traidng moonshine 4 margarita's :D

LibMom -- see above not too many sip for you --- BZZZZZZZ Hic 'White Lightning'

Scott -- Give your son a quarter give 2 that punk girl and tell him 2 tell her, "call someone who cares" (hopefully this isnt lost on younger generations) OR bring her 'black roses' (if your feelling really meanspirited) -- maybe she needs someone to push back once. I'd offer some other suggestion but dont want anyone getting in trouble ( or bring her real flowers?)

So I was at the school for almost 12 hours today. I ran the PTO table until I set up the lunch and realized more parents were signing up for our Room Parent program when I wasn't at the table! So I went to work at another station where lots of help was needed. I met new teachers and visited with the ones I call friends and drank lots of caffine.
Just wondering, have any of you ever asked to have your child not put with a certain student to have it happen the next year anyway? My oldest keeps getting put with a girl that can be a bit of a bully to him but just tries to ignore her because she is a brat (as is her mother) and when they are assigning for the next year I remind them I do not want him in the class with her but with all of our staff changes, it seems to get forgotten in between years. I finally just told his new teacher what he refuses to tell anyone but me and she said she'd handle it, but I feel like this year and teacher he has been waiting for for years might be ruined by this child.
Maybe I'm just tired of all the parents whining and b*tching and getting what the want for class assignments and my simple request being overlooked. Oh well, thanks for the drinks, I'm going to bed.

The irony of commitment is that it’s deeply liberating-in work, in play, in love. The act frees you from the tyranny of your internal critic, from the fear that likes to dress itself up and parade around as rational hesitation. To commit is to remove your head as the barrier to your life. --Anne Morris
