I'm the coordinator of a first time event on Sat... a costume exchange. It was my grand idea, now i'm trying to impliment. Got lots of advertising out there- the key to any open to public new event. I'm praying we have a good turnout, but feeling the jitters myself- so much to think about- so little time.

GaMom, Our carnival is on the 14th. I don't have my volunteers in place and the admin finally got working on the grade level baskets. The donations are slow because of the changeover between people coordinating it. We are finishing up our fall catalog sale. The last 2 have been scary and I'm a little worried because our budget is nill and because I pushed for this catalog because the company is always great to work with, I love the rep, and because the items weren't junk, for once. My oldest lost his run for office today, something he's been working towards since he was in preschool. My husband found my stash of unpacked boxes and told me to either unpack them or throw the stuff away because our new bedroom closet isn't as big as the one at the last house and I can't hide stuff in it. It made me feel like the episode of Friends with Monica's secret, messy closet. I have to do lists coming out my ears and I'm so tired that I can't sleep! AAAHHHHH!!! Did someone say it was time for a round of tequila shots? And to top it off, my 3 year old just reminded me he has stinky sandle feet and needs a bath (before the bed starts to smell) even though he is almost asleep. Could someone just hit me over the head? The irony of commitment is that it’s deeply liberating-in work, in play, in love. The act frees you from the tyranny of your internal critic, from the fear that likes to dress itself up and parade around as rational hesitation. To commit is to remove your head as the barrier to your life. --Anne Morris

Alright already!!! I'm sorry about the picture. I guess I was just glad it wasn't me with a javelin through my foot. ;)

GaMom - It's the scarcity complex. And seeing if he really is the most important thing in your life. And wanting something he can't have. Oh, no, it's just 'cuz it's Happy Time. He's a guy, he doesn't need a reason. And, BTW, my last school switched the carnival to saturday two years ago. The chairman was a nervous wreck. A handful of parents were bothered. We made our largest profit ever. Don't worry, it'll be great!

Some people come into our lives and quickly go. Some stay for awhile and leave footprints on our hearts. And we are never, ever the same."

Oh, by the way- there is no overprotective! You follow your instincts- what feels right. I never doubt myself when I am being aggressive or assertive when it comes to my kids! It's a big scary world and I don't trust ANYONE!

The foot picture- WOW! That looks painful- I'm sure the women loves the fact that the media was right there in her face taking pictures!
Now the whole world can feel her pain!

My kindergartener was told " you're cute naked" today- WHAT THE H*#*?????? My mouth dropped- I called the bus driver at home... asking that Johnny stay away from my daughter- he belongs in the front seat. I asked my daughter (who is 5 mind you) what she did... "I stuck my tongue out at him."
Kids these days! Why would a five year old even say something like that? OMG!
