No cables huh ... is someone trying to tell you something? We moved a few years back and the moving company really made finding the boxes you needed in the right room an adventure. I am still finding odd things in some boxes ... like kitchen items along with holiday decor. Of course I don't find the missing items until after I purchase a replacement ... Murphy's Law.
Grade school was a looooong time ago - I do remember quite a few movies or rather don't remember quite a few movie days in the classroom. Ops!

Hi Silver Fox. Me too. zzzzzz Ooohh I needed that. Remember in grade school when the teacher could just turn the lights off for a few minutes for 'heads down' time. Even if it was for just two minutes, I'd fall asleep.

hmmmm, I just unpacked my computer boxes and, guess what - no cables. I guess I shouldn't have put this job off for so long.

Ooops ~ put my head down for 2 minutes and it's afternoon already! Dreary here also - very hard to get motivated and the 2 venti Starbucks have not done a darn thing for me.
Why is it that women of the family multitask until we drop? What day is it that we can go on strike?! I can't wait until Mother's Day.

LUV - "The teacher thought our conversation was great and everything was worked out so the principal was a bit taken aback when I asked to speak with him. I told him that two people can have two totally different views on how a conversation went especially when they don't really know each other well."

Hear Hear!!Its good you went straight to the top. Some parents seem to assume that what concerns they transmit to teachers get represented correctly to mgmt (and in the teachers lounge!!). But it doesnt happen that way.Becuase people are human (duh).

Its always better the principal hears it straight from the parent (for sensitive issues)....to make sure they 'get' your true position, not one from 'interpretation' or 'assumption' or 'hearsay' from the teacher (or even from interpreting an email or letter from you), who is after all, just another human being prone to the normal differences in interpretations you describe above.

Communication is the key.... I wonder if Pegmom ever got to assemble the parents in one room or if they are still dispersed by small groups when they have parent mtgs with the principal......

It's dreary here today too and all I can think about is the tons of things I could be doing at home instead of sitting here at work. I brought my lunch today in the hopes that I can then slip out early. This month is so full of events that I look at my calendar sometimes and just want to scream. My house is showing it too. I know I am not the only one in my house capable of using a dust cloth or carrying a basket of laundry upstairs, but that doesn't seem to happen even when I come right out and ask.

Guess I'm not alone from the sounds of things here on the boards. Maybe it's time for a virtual nap. Let's all put our heads down for 2 minutes and breathe deeply.

Hey Rocky, watch me pull a rabbit out of my hat.

That's great news LUV! It must be a good feeling to know that the principal followed through until he was sure that all sides were heard and understood. Good for you!!

Sounds exciting to be on the Gifted program's curriculum committee. I hope it works out for you. I think parents should be involved in those types of issues.

It's a rainy, dreary day here in Alabama. I've run out of excuses to unpack my office. And, hubby threw out one final plea this weekend so that's what I'm doing today. Then, a whole new adventure begins... ;)
