I deboned a turkey once and stuffed it. It was really pretty...and the dark meat fromt he legs looked so cool. It seemed to brown a bit nicer too but I'm not sure why--maybe it just browned more evenly.....Anyway--It was 9 days after the birth of my 4th little boy so I was in a nesting Martha sort of mood. It was good but the other boys said 'why's the turkey so SMALL' this year...d

Jist of email:
Do you have any DISTRICT Parent Liasons, Parent Councils, Parent Enrichment Class Persons, Parent center Coo-ord, etc (Site based Mgmnt besided BOE or School Board)?

Her reply:
If you contact your principal and PTA they have opportunities for local school involvment (Principals contact are on school info pg) If you would like employment please checkpout our job listings

Am I just being anal and an #$% (because I can be - Alot- but I expect too much from others, too) but where in the response does it say "No we dont" OR "Yes, we do contact so and so or this and that" I already know about the Damnschool

AND 'Yes' our family could always use more $$$ with the family medical situations and goings on, currently... But where or why would you reply like that - if It wasnt a request?

Hell can I have her job, I can get liqoured up (here ;) )and answer as dopey as that!!!! No wonder our Education System is run by Morons (but I already knew that)

Lu, for my first bird, I had it made and ordered from a local store. I didn't want to chance messing it up. Our first was a last minute fix thing. I wound up making a trial run meal later so I new what I needed to do. I still go by that trial run plan 8 years later. This year, I may have to get the bird from the store again but only because we will have so many people! Good luck.

The irony of commitment is that it’s deeply liberating-in work, in play, in love. The act frees you from the tyranny of your internal critic, from the fear that likes to dress itself up and parade around as rational hesitation. It's funny, I guess word got around to the staff not at the meeting today because people are running into me, emailing me, and calling me to tell me that they love me and need me no matter what. It seems that her inability to offer constructive criticism is a big issue right now. She also seems to work on some tactic used to make everyone around her feel inept so she can instill herself as top dog. Appearently we are all supposed to have lost our expectation of manners and developed thick skins overnight.

I didn't hit McD's last night but I did find myself ordering takeout from Texas Roadhouse and picking up a nice, big froofy drink. I also got some time away today and chopped off a couple of inches of hair.

Now for some good news, I'm going to be an aunt again any second now so I went on a shopping spree for the new baby. It's the little things...........

Ok- just had to share, because I'm so excited!

Hubby & I just decided tonight that we will have a stay at home Thanksgiving...our first ever! I have never made any holiday meal for my own family & we are going to do it! We haven't told my folks & the il's yet, which is a horse of a different color, but I think after 8 years, it is time. We will invite the rest of the fam. for dessert, but will not be leaving our home all day.

Any pointers for my first large bird?

Scottsmom - I'm sorry I'm coming in on this so late - I don't have anything new to offer that hasn't already been said. All I can say is - you have one more ear to listen, one more heart saddened for the insenativity (sp?) of a principal. I echo Lucella's comment - the kids loved it - thats what counts.

Along with CC brownies and all the fru fru coffee's - take a sinfully long bubble bath! Will do wonders for you!

MyKids - your mom is in my thoughts and prayers. I hope things turn around for her. Take care of yourself......

CC - had a similar incident- only the girls heard that word out of their GRANDFATHERS mouth! Needless to say, I had to have a few words with my dad (not easy). Then I got to have the joy of explaining to my kids why that was such a horrible word. Fun, huh.
