I feel much better. We are all better. We had a big hug and tissue time. It is our first real test of our group and I think we came out strong, so I am very proud of that. Before in PTO, someone would just quit and not try to work things out.

Ok--the Bulldogs won, the Falcons won, and the race is here this coming weekend. My husband is one happy camper. The track is only 2 miles away and he will still go camp there and not come home!
That means i don't have to worry about supper for 2 nights! me and the boys can eat whatever we want, which will probably be cereal! is it sad to be excited about that? Cooking is just at the bottom of my list lately. I hate trying to decide what to make and remember when the last time we had corn was, etc.

off to work on lesson plans and a paper!

GaMom - it sounds like you were put through the gauntlet this weekend! What a challenging time it must have been. I know all about the eye rolling thing. I used to drive my dad crazy (yes, they can tell you're doing it even if your eyelids are closed).

I'm glad to hear that you worked it all out. Good for you! Guys could go through a similar situation, get just as nasty with each other and then go out and have a beer together. I don't know why it's that way. It just is. I'm not really a 'regular' girl and I still fall into that trap. I get so mad at myself but it really does seem to be unavoidable sometimes!

It's your passion and energy that is such an asset to your team and the reason that so many wonderful things get done for the school. Don't beat yourself up. Celebrate your successful carnival! I say CONGRATULATIONS!!!! Woooo Hooooooo for you!!! :D

One word: CARNIVAL. I am so totally glad it is over. We worked so hard to make it great and it was. But starting on Friday the stress was getting to us all. One girld felt bad and was snappy. i was excited and bouncing off the wall, which was getting on girl A's nerves. Another girl doesn't do anything unless you give her very explicit instructions, and all the rest of us are dive right in kind of people, so this girl was really driving us all crazy (the only thing we really agreed on most of the time). the last lady is very precise and meticulous about things, and although that is sometimes a plus, it can be nerve-racking. Everyone was snappy by 10:00 Friday morning and it pretty much stayed that way all day and till 5:30 Saturday when the carnival was over and cleaned up and we were all just too exhausted to bicker with the other ones. One girl thought I was trying to over-do her, i thought she had no faith in me, and we turned into PTOzilla's basically. the thing is that we are so much alike in so many ways. I know she trusts me. She knows I believe in her. We both took things the other said totally wrong. things blew up Saturday night when she emailed me and asked what my problem was. i replied that i was tired of getting snapped at. She took it that she was a bad person, and that i wasn't taking any blame. (At that time, i wasn't, in all honesty). But that is the problem with email, you can't tell a person's tone. And we both know better than to try to fix things on email. before the emails were over, I had stepped back and was only going to handle room parents and not offer my opinion on anything else ever again (yeah right) and she wasn't going to do anything outside Presidential duties, and was a bad person and only going to worry what her kids thought of her. So after a day of emailing back and forth and crying and me drinking all the company wine, and we finally got things ok. She promises to work on not snapping and I promise to work on not rolling my eyes. We both have worked tremendously hard on making this carnival great, and it was and because we were being nutty, couldn't fully enjoy it with each other. And we typically are not catty people. We are usually the ones who handle things well, and smooth over the issues others have.

I just think that women are so hard on each other in general. We tend to go with what is onthe outside and not try to see the inner issues sometimes. I am a niave person anyway. i believe that everyone is good and wants good and doesn't want to stir up trouble, so i get shot in the foot quite a bit.

So i drank the whole bottle of sangria wine, then had to get up and go to Pre-k this morning! ARGH!! Luckily we didn't cook today but did have to mix paint and work with scissors. not a good thing with a wineo headache.

GaMom - whatever you need, we're here for you. I live nearby. Say the word and I'll come over and stand shoulder to shoulder with you. To answer your questions, though..... Because we're girls.

Whew, it was a crazy week. So, so glad to be home. Here's a link to some photos. Thankfully, I'm not in any of them. Actually, I don't even know any of the people in the pics of our car. Well, except in photo #24. That's hubby standing behind the car, wearing the blue and white jacket with his hands in his pockets. See, handsome! ;) Our car is the blue Sorcerer Barracuda. You can see it in images 2, 3, 10 and 24. There are also plenty of pics of some awesome Hemi Darts and Barracudas. We didn't win either race - the Hemi Challenge or the U.S. Open - but we ran a record run (for us), didn't break anything and learned lots. Hubby did win the Hemi Challenge Best Burnout contest. Not bad for our first year with the car! So, we're looking forward to next season!!!
