See, now I wish you were here in Iowa with me for T-day CC. No one else in my whole family will even try the turkey/cranberry/mayo combo.

Our Thanksgiving with family is pretty low key. There is only my sister and her 2 girls, my family of 4 and my parents. No big loud crowd or family squabbles. Well, I guess last year I did give my sister the evil eye for having a very nasty MTV show on. She lets her kids watch it, but mine don't get to watch shows where girls run around half naked and every other word has to be bleeped out. I was proud of my kids though. My son went outside with Grandpa and my daughter looked at the program for about 30 seconds and came out to the kitchen to help Grandma cook.

Hey Rocky, watch me pull a rabbit out of my hat.

Mmmmmm turkey/cranbery sauce/mayo sandwich. I'm in heaven just thinking about that!

We're hanging around the house this year. My family is not an option. Hubby's family celebrated early to accomodate other schedules. For the first time in 24 years (except one memorable North Carolina Holiday ;) ) I will be in my own home for Thanksgiving. Even though it's just the three of us I'm making a full blown Thanksgiving dinner with all the trimmings. I'll be up early to watch the Macy's parade which is, again, something I've missed due to travelling. I love my hubby's family and would make any sacrifice to spend a holiday with them. But since they've already celebrated, I'll look forward to our quiet day here at home!

I know families who have lost children and it's a horrible thing. You never expect your children to die before you. I don't know if I could go on. Praying in Iowa too.

Scottmom, we are going through the same thing with our fundraiser. One kid got irate with the PTO Prez when he found out he was out of the running for prizes because he didn't turn his form in on time. He ranted and raved and blamed his teacher(who by the way we KNEW gave the stuff out on time and explained it). There was a huge note on the front with the date in a 25pt font. BRAT!!!! I do feel bad for his mom-she's the one who actually did all the work. I got her a card today with a little something in it.

As for Turkey Day-will be dining at parents' house and then napping. Then eating some more, then napping.

Turkey and cranberry sauce sandwiches with mayo-Yummmmmmm.

It is sad news but it's heartwarming to see the community rallying is support.

LUV - it sounds like you have a wonderful day planned! Work on hubby a little harder. A day off with the family will do wonders for him.

ScottMom - Hey..... are we related? I don't know about you but my twin and I are still working hard on the switched at birth theory!

Shawn, if you have anything left after you're done with ScottMom's, swing by Alabama and throw a little Christmas charm on my house too. ;)

I'm very excited about the holidays this year. It didn't start out that way but all of the good cheer in here has rubbed off on me! Thanks, friends!!!
