Happy Thanksgiving all! I feel like I haven't been here in forever. My house is finally back to normal after company and food and 4 am shopping trips. Did anyone notice how nice people were this year? Maybe it was the weather. I made a new friend at Walmart and my husband's best friend was at Toys R Us and volunteered to buy my 1 item (he was at least an hour in line ahead of me) for me. I picked up something he needed at my next stop for him. The only place I didn't like was Best Buy-nothing but crazy and rude people. My middle child went to Bath and Body Works with me and got so excited for Christmas that I can't wait until he knows the secret and can go shopping with me.
We have a 3.5 hour roundtrip to make for an annual family Christmas get together tomorrow. The kids get a small gift from Santa, crafts, and get to play with all bazillion of their cousins. There's tons of food and people whose names I only have to know once a year, at weddings, or funerals. It's one of those things that got started by people so high up on the family tree that they are no longer with us. I love looking around and seeing that I married into a good family with good genes, something no one would think at one of my family's reunions. They are such a great group. My first year, I was pregnant and my husband didn't have to introduce me to anyone because they all seek out the new addtion to the familiy. We wear name tags that have mini family trees so people know how they're related. The only scarry thing is how much all of our kids look alike.
After we get home and have a quick dinner, we will put up the Christmas tree and start decorating the house. I can't wait to get started on my baking and candy making.

The irony of commitment is that it’s deeply liberating-in work, in play, in love. The act frees you from the tyranny of your internal critic, from the fear that likes to dress itself up and parade around as rational hesitation. To commit is to remove your head as the barrier to your life. --Anne Morris

Hey CC--glad t-day was so nice. I would plan on 2 weeks for the bags to get to their destination. There are daily flights now since the theater is "mature" but you can never tell once in theater how long to get to their final stop. So 2 should cover it.!!!

d - you and your family are in my heart and my prayers. Every day you have with your mother is a blessing and days I know you'll always treasure.

GaMom - Good for you! I hope you found lots of great deals to make it all worthwhile.

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving Day but since then it's been kinda yucky. Hubby has the flu (the real flu), I have a cold that I hope and pray won't turn into the flu and our son is 'tired' so I'm keeping my eye on him. He's never tired. ?!?!?!?!

We're going to go through our Chirstmas decorations and start putting things out. My son loves the village we put up and he can't wait to find the right spot in the new house.

And, we're going to start assembling the gift bags for the troops so they can get out in the mail soon. d - do you know how long it takes for larger packages to get where they're going?

Oooohhh, I love Hershey's Kisses - and I especially love all the new kinds they're making. Guess what they have this year? Candy Cane Kisses!!!!! White chocolate Kisses with mint stripes and candy bits. Mmmmmmmmm :D

D--my heart goes out to you and your mom. My granny had cancer and always said there are things a lot worse. Big hugs!!

Your husband definately wins son in law of the year!!!

I was crazy enough to get up at 3 to go shopping yesterday. The only really bad place was Brandsmart--where I stood in line for an hour! It was almost scary the number of people in the place though! It was definately a fire hazard. And some people were so rude about it, like they are more important or something. But then we went to Kmart and this lady had the whole display of slipper socks in her buggy. She was donating them to a nursing home. And she doesn't even have a relative there! Just doing it out of the goodness of her heart. Spent well over $200.00. Now that is the spirit of Christmas.

After 15 hours of shopping I came home, I was in bed at 7 and didn't get up to 10 this morning. My poor feet hurt SO bad! Anyone else go shopping??

So did everyone get their turkey, cranberry and mayo sandwiches? i'm heating up dressing and gravy! My favorite in the whole wide world!

Hi--we're home (love driving on Friday and not Saturday). Just a lovely T-day...one I'm glad I didn't miss...if you get my drift. Saw my dear, lovely mom for the first time is way too long. Told her a few times what had happened but she doesn't get it...but still knows to smile and tear up when I see her. Meeting new friends everyday is her life now...even if she's known them forever. My sister made a FABULOUS dinner, next sister made a FABULOUS breakfast. Everyone came, I think to make sure my face didn't look bad...but they still came. We all got home and the boys were SOOOO excited about sleeping in their own beds. I try to make their bed the most comfortable place in the world so they will always want to come home. I even spray a little perfume on them (mine). I'm sure there is some freudian slip up there but they love it.
I realized I pay as much for the dogs (2 boxers, Lola and Maddie) to stay in a kennel as I do us people to stay at the Embassy Suites. I guess I've made it in life...
UNFORGETABLE MOMENT: My sister coming to me crying because my beautifully, wonderful husband was playing tic tac toe with my wonderfully, beautiful mother (84) and laughing when she beat him.

My life is good, hope yours is the same!!!

It's a gorgeous day here!

The deserts are made and in the fridge, the pie is in the oven as we type and all is well in the world!

I wish you all a day of peace and love with your families and friends.

I am so thankful to have such a wonderful group of people to share with. You support, encourage, and inspire me.

Tim, I am so thankful for all the hard work you put into this site. It adds so much to our lives--support from others in the same boat, ideas, and encouragement. We couldn't do this without you! You have an open invitation to our Volunteer Appreciation breakfast!
