Hey CC - puleaze tell me why I exercise again? The pain? The pain? or oh yeah - the Pain!

I did kick boxing 2 days ago - and right now just a pat on the tush would send me to the moon! Also, I think I pinched something (without ANY of the fun :D ). But, I'm a going back. Even though I hurt - and belive you me, I hurt - I really enjoyed it. Kinda getting into this exercising thing.

Alright - my 20th reunion count down begins. We are at 5 days - and I'm getting giddy excited!!!!!! I loved High School and can't wait to see my old classmates (plus I'm going Hooooommmee to TN  )
CC - I'll be about an hour away from your neck of the woods.

Crazy--YOU ROCK...what a great package...And it is so nice to feel that you are giving to folks that need it the most. Kudos to the girls and the cards/letters will go great. The neatest thing about this is these guys and girls will just be settling in and you all will be letting them know someone sincerely cares about them....amazing!!!!

d- you've awakened a very dangerous beast in me, I'm in full Holdiay- Christams mood! I went crazy today. The boys and gals will soon be having a very sweet christmas! We got: pepermints, butterscotch, gum, dum dums (suckers), popcorn, different teas (such an essential comfort item in our home) instant cocoa mix, and more. The girls also decided to toss in some decks of cards and a tin of board games! As a family, the girls and I have really gotten into this! Next are the letters from the kids at their schools. Then we get to mail the box/es out. Can't wait. :D

Hey Tim - we need a graemilin with a santa's hat!

Hope everyone is having a great weekend - we are suppose to be getting some flurries here in our great capitol tonight! Our fingers are crossed and the girls are wearing their Pj's inside out tonight (that's what kids do now to wish for snow. Toooooo cute!).

Oh CC--I read that with tears streaming. I've seen others similar, but not ONE with that sort of heart. Thank you all for what you are doing. Having spent a Christmas in the Middle East it is odd to be so close to the holiest places on earth and know that you're without your family. I will say though that Christmas Eve and Day were very special. I went to the mail room that night on the way back from the HQ at around 9pm and my husband's gift had arrived, it was a "field band" for my wedding finger (no diamonds or not fancy but perfect!!!. I'd deployed 5 months earlier and left mine at home (didn't want some Iraqi pulling it off my finger is something happened). That night at midnight we all gathered with the chaplain for a Christmas Eve service on a roof top of a building. The next day we came together early around early (like 5ish) and opened presents that we'd received and sang songs. We'd gotten some decorations from family so we did our best to hang garland and little trees with lights. It was pretty neat in it's own way.
Crazy--your idea is lovely and I would suggest you contact the AF Base Chaplains office to see if there is a family there that might be in need of your support. They usually have contacts through the Community Service Programs (Red Cross etc) and can give you names of single airmen or families that might enjoy a "home touch" with a family. You're special for thinking of it. I tried mightily when this first started to get some of the kids at Walter Reed down for dinner. Unfortunately, if they are there the reasons are usually pretty significant, and there are associated mental stressors that stop them from releasing names through the system. I'll try again this year...and we'll see!...
You guys make my heart swell with pride...
I'm lucky to have met you all...even if it is virtual...

Hey D or Shawn (or anyone else who has an idea)-

Have either of you ever been "orphaned" from your families during the holidays, then invited to someones home for Christmas dinner? I live near a base and would really love to do this for a couple of our finest! Any ideas how I would go about putting this into action, who to contact?

Shawn - I think I'm going to have the stress definition printed up!
So, does that mean the opposite of it choking the living *#&%^" out of someone can be defined as.....destressing? :D ;)

Stress! The confusion created when one's mind overrides the body's desire to choke the living @#%$ out of some ONE who desperately deserves it.
