Thanks Ohio and LUV. My little brother took a long time to find out what he wanted to be when he grew up (27 years!) but I'm so proud to see him choose such an honorable profession. You can only imagine how proud my dad and twin are of him. They're both career Army and had secretly hoped little brother would eventually go in that direction too.

Hey, Shawn, the Dems just announced that their 2008 Convention will be in Denver. Better hurry up and get your plane tickets and hotel reservations....

On a more serious note - Have any of you ever been blessed with the rare opportunity of meeting someone so real, gracious, humble and dignified that you feel you're in the presence of greatness? The more I get to know a new friend of mine, the more blessed I feel. She has experienced more than most people would ever have to face but she still gets up with a smile on her face, greets everyone she sees as if they're true friends and spends all of her time wondering what she can do for others. I've truly never met anyone like this. I sometimes wonder if my sole reason for living here for such a short time was so I could meet a person who can set such a wonderful, beautiful and spiritual example.

CC, give that brother of yours a pat on the back and a big hug from me. It takes a special person to take on the responsibilty of defending our country and spreading freedom throughout the world. A big salute to all of our soldiers who give so much of themselves everyday.

I'm with you on the cookie conspiracy theory. They send those cute little faces to your door so you don't suspect their evil plan. Our PTO doesn't plan fundraisers during cookie time either.

Hey Rocky, watch me pull a rabbit out of my hat.

Crew--congrats to your little brother. My cousin leaves for Iraq on February 2--he is a marine. Spent a year in Japan--has been back to the USA for less then 6 months(stationed in South Carolina) and leaving again in February.

LOL about the girl scout cookies!! Maybe we need to plan PTO sales like they plan girl scout cookies LOL!! I always warn the PTO when they plan their fundraiser that they don't wanna compete against girl scout cookie times LOL! I tell them its so much easier for people to buy a $3 box of cookies then spend $12 on a tub of cookie dough that they will probably burn anyways(yup I admit like Silver I am a burner LOL)

OK, my conspracy theory friends... Coincidence that Girl Scout Cookies go on sale two weeks into New Years? I think not. They try to get us while we're still weak, getting tired of carrots and bottled water, unable to put up a good fight due to beat-to-death muscles. Sure, they could wait until another time when we'd be reasonable and buy just one box to help them out. But, nooooooo, They come at us when we'll overreact, order 10 boxes and then start trolling the front of Walmart stores looking for their 'innocent' little card tables just so we can buy 10 more boxes. I'm on to them...

Good news!! My little brother has survived basic training and is now off to Ft. Rucker for the next phase. If he keeps this up, he'll be a pilot in no time! I'm so proud of him. He went into basic with the purpose of fulfilling his own personal goals. After 8 weeks of hard work and seeing the bigger picture, he thinks he's ready to go fight the good fight and give those overworked soldiers in Iraq a break. What a guy.

Frozen thin mints are my hubby's favorite too. I feel that eating them frozen reduces the smooth richness of the chocolate. I let mine thaw for a bit. I'm kind of fond of the Scot Teas(what are they called now?) and a hot cup of tea. Great dunking cookie.

Okay, now I'm craving junk food and all I have for l lunch is a Lean Cuisine and an orange. I'm trying to be good.
