OH MY Goodness--how is it possible that the INSIDE of a dishwasher can get so dirty. Now I am not a domestic goddess at all...I hate to clean and if hubby wants the house cleaner he can get the cleaning team to come in more often...but after the guy fixed the heating coil I actually started to look at the dishwasher...disgusting...cause there was no heat the dishes I did in there were just pushing their gunk onto the walls and then hardening up there and all around. YUK....just spent 2 hours cleaning all those little posts and crap....
goodie bags..I try to stuff things into things the kids can use like lunch boxes for my August guys, water bottles for the June baby and something fun and on sale for the November guy....with that as the casing--I fill it with pencils, gum, and things I think are cool like super balls etc. Also I stock up on sparklers at the 4th and use those a lot (after the 4th you can get a ton for really cheap) and make sure the parents know they are there for fun and require supervision.
I cannot even think about looking inside the washing machine....d
A nap sounds so good. I swear there isn't a restaurant in this town that has heat. I was freezing in the place we went today too. I just need to start bringing my lunch to work so I can stay where it's warm. My already painful sinuses are now even more painful.
You're party sounds fun, Scottmom. You can really come up with great parties when you pick themes. The most fun one I ever did was a Rainbow Fish party. It rained out all the water related games, so we painted rainbow fish instead. Paint and glitter everywhere and 12 happy little first grade girls. Couldn't beat that! They didn't even care about goodie bags, they were too proud of their masterpieces.
I like doing goodie bags, too. My kids' birthdays are several months apart so as soon as we are done with one we start planning for the next because I love having time to shop for sales and clearance. Next bday is April and we've been planning since November and I got almost everything after Christmas (I swear everything is on sale after Christmas). We are having a treasure chest cake, a treasure hunt and I've been making little treasure chests with the kids when we have nothing else to do.
It is dark and dreary here today, so I don't have motivation either. I took the middle child to get his glasses fixed and bought snacks for our meeting this afternoon. I really need to print out the agenda but all I seem to be able to do is stare into space while my youngest plays with my hair.
I better go try to get moving, only two more hours before I have to leave. Wonder if I can fit a nap in somewhere?...

how to borrow on credit,,,,,thats what those kids learn.
oh maybe all the goodie bag and outlandish parties are credit card company conspiracies, branding kids early, get em hooked on the things they cant afford....hmmm. just kidding of course. its the parents pushing these things, not the kids.
I wonder what happens if the next year the parent can't top this year's event or even match it? Will the child think their birthday isn't important anymore? I can see doing something special like that for a 16th birthday, but some of these parents do it all the time-and some I KNOW really can't afford it. What lesson does that teach?
