Omigosh, that sounds like my husband! He can take forever to get anywhere. Drives me insane. I think we're going to the grocery store and we also stop at the bank, and the post office, and the library.... I wouldn't mind if I knew in advance that he wants to do all these things too. I DO have things to do at home!

We had a day like that last Monday and I didn't take advantage of it so today I did. Who knows when we'll get another chance any time soon!

So, I just got a call from the wayward travellers. They just left Nashville at 1:00 so it'll be 3:30 before they're here. I guess that means chili for supper instead of for lunch. When we were kids, my dad wouldn't actually stop for anything but he would drive 45 minutes out of the way to drive by something. Now, he stops at everything so a 150 mile trip can take him all day.....

CC, I am longing for that first day of 70s so I can open up the house. Sometimes I sneak the two upstairs bath windows open when it gets in the mid-60s. Love that fresh air!

Chili sounds good. Soups in the crock pot are always a great thing on those days when you're not sure when supper will actually be happening. Save a brownie for me!

You know I wonder where Britney's parents are during all this. If that was my daughter and grandbabies, I'd be there in a heartbeat.

Britney needs an intervention and her kids need a safe place. It makes me sad to see how some people treat their children.

Sunny, Seventy and Breezy here today so all the windows are thrown wide open. I don't have any screens so I'm probably letting more in than out but the fresh air is wonderful!

Dad and Step Mom are coming for a visit this evening. They're on their way to Ft. Rucker to see Little Brother and then on to Florida for a week with family. I have a pot of chili on the stove, some sun tea on the back porch (Thanks Shawn!!!) and just took corn muffins and brownies out of the oven. I have no idea when to expect them (retirement must be great) so I figured the chili would be the best way to go. It's always ready and the longer it simmers, the better it is!

Hmmm, Brown Betty, never had that.

mykids, I can totally identify with that feeling. My youngest will be heading to middle school next year and I get asked almost weekly what I will be doing with myself when I won't have anyone at elementary. Some have a plot to hold my son back so I have to stay! Nice thought, but...no thanks. I actually have some wheels grinding on an after school program at the middle school-will see where that takes me. Plus it would be nice to just work on the many projects I would like to do around the house.

Didn't get the hamburgers last night. I forgot it was middle school family night at one of the restaurants, so we had to have pizza. It was taco pizza though and quite yummy.

I've never had brown betty, but I've seen it made on cooking shows and it sounds delicious.

I think the Psycho reference was in the thread about snow. There was also a reference to "redrum" and that crazy Jack Nicholson. Hope no one really got that stir crazy!

Speaking of crazy, have you all seen the pics of Britney with her bald head?! Thank goodness she has the money for a nanny, 'cause I'm not so sure she's a fit mother right at this moment. Oh wait, driving with child on her lap and wasn't there one other similar incident? Think we could use some parenting classes there.
