Shortie LOVES the Vicks Vaporub. He slathers it all over his neck and chest when he has a cold. Then he puts on one of Dad's big t-shirts and snuggles under the blankets.
On the school front, not a lot going on here. He can miss a whole week and catch up in a day. Sadly, not a lot is expected from the students at his school. He's in advanced classes, which here means he's taking 8th grade math and science in 7th grade. He often comes home and talks about how 'lazy' the kids are at his school. He's not a super genious or anything, but he does see a huge difference between what was expected at his last school and here. I should send a note to the old super/BOE and give them a huge thank you for providing such a wonderful foundation for their kids!

Last week my daughter had the stuffed up head thing and then it went into her chest. Never any fever. She would just medicate and have a morning cup of tea with breakfast and head to school. She hates to miss because she is in advanced classes and there can be so much work to make up, plus missing the lectures in class. Luckily she doesn't have any after school stuff right now, so she would come home and lie down for a bit. She used Vick's every night and it helped more than anything.
Oooooo, thanks onaroll.... just what I needed on this dreary, rainy morning. I like to dip my cinnamon rolls in hot cocoa! And yippee for the soft center!!!!
Shorty is home sick today - a bad cold. No fever, but I didn't have the heart to send him out into the cold rain with such a stuffed up head. A day of sleep will be good for him.
Miss Heavyweight Alabama killed me at the gym this morning. My left arm is completely gone and my right is at about 20% functionality right now. (Thank God I can still type....) I don't know what kind of trainer I'm going to find in Illinois but she's going to have to be pretty tough to compare to my workouts here!
Woooo Hoooo, karate class in the brand new building tonight. I hope I get my arms back by then.
You're right LUV. My new house has a fabulous bathtub but it'll probably be blocked by boxes for the first two months or so..... Hubby's happy because there's a giant shower. He's a giant guy so a quality shower sells a house to him! It wouldn't matter to him if the whole rest of the place was 900 sq ft as long as there's a giant shower!
Now I'm off to gather up all my tax documents so they're safely at the accountants office before the movers come and hide everything. Once something is taped into a box, it might be months before I see it again!

Moving, weather, taxes, so many ways to be stressed! I'm simply passing out some goodies to all - warm home made cinnamon rolls with ooey gooey frosting. Take your pick of chamomile/honey/vanilla tea, hot cocoa or coffee.

Artistic license...thanks Shawn, for some reason when I typed poetic I knew that wasn't what I wanted but my mind was just blank. I used the correct term when talking with the kiddies. I also love to read a book and have in my mind the way the characters look-many times quite ordinary people, and then you get to the theatre and they have some hunky guy or shapely gal playing that part. That's why I love Tom Hanks-an ordinary looking guy.
CC, take all of those baths that you can because you probably won't get many for a few weeks after you move back!
