Did someone say party? Am I too late? I'm ready. Rum and diet cola / salsa and chips for everyone! Warm weather party treats. Yup - it's going to 35 degrees today, ice storm tonight and 48 degrees tomorrow. Gotta love central NY. But it's March 1st, spring is in sight...for those of us who haven't seen a leaf or a flower in months...LOL.

My last PTO meeting is Monday. I'm happy to see new parents with younger kids step in with fresh outlooks but sad to let go. ;) It has been 5 years for me, 2 as chair. I'll still be on board for advice, help, etc, for the rest of the year. I was going to be done in May but my job has been dealt some changes and I needed to exit a little earlier. I'm going to miss it. I've still got 2 years left on site-based team though!

Glad to see you, d. We had a Steak n Shake party last night. There is probably still some of their famous strawberry shortcake left to share.

Man oh man, I really want a double steak burger with cheese, ketchup, mustard and onions right now. It'll be late tomorrow night before I can even get one.

HUGE storm is coming through this afternoon. Everyone is worried enough that schools are even closing early. I'm off to batten down the hatches and make sure we have blankets, flashlights, a radio and 'time passing' stuff for our "shelter" which is really just the closet under the stairs. I guess we could pretend we're Harry Potter.....

I'm here--I'm here -- just have had a ton of appointments and this is my first visit since I've returned. Great time...Vegas is richer--saw "the producers" w/David Hasselhof, hiked up in Red Rock Canyon, visited the Hoover Dam, gambled, ate and drank gin and tonics in a whirlpool for hours. Had to squeeze in a bunch of fun in about 40 hours but we did it. Bed at 2 am and up and moving at 6 am...Busy-but fun!!!! Hubby had 4 inches of snow while I was gone...ahhhhh he said I have no idea how hard this child care thing is....complained there was not milk and bread so I retorted with "so you had to go to the s-t-o-r-e!!!!"

More soon...

I LOVE the shakes, especially the flavors you can't get other places. We didn't have a Steak N Shake for a long time but we had a Winsteads and always went there for birthdays for those huge shakes (skyscrapers?) that the whole family would split. The kids would be sick before the food made it to the table.

The irony of commitment is that it’s deeply liberating-in work, in play, in love. The act frees you from the tyranny of your internal critic, from the fear that likes to dress itself up and parade around as rational hesitation. To commit is to remove your head as the barrier to your life. --Anne Morris
