We have cardinals in my willow tree out back--I sit for hours and watch them. I have even used pictures of them for our PTO newsletter--since we are the Triad Cardinals LOL!!

stay safe with the nasty weather

Sorry I missed the party ... kids are sick with everything going around the school so pretty busy 'cleaning up' after them. eeew.
I just witnessed the most gorgeous scene a minute ago. It's snowing like crazy here (again) and visability is pretty low right now. I was looking out the window and witnessed 4 Cardinal's flying about our birdfeeders having a good ole time playing and eating. I couldn't believe how striking their red feathers were against the falling snow backdrop ... amazing. Anyways it's enough to brighten my day for a little while at least.
Hope all are safe in AL and other southern states ... seen some twisters on the national news. Thinking of you and sending you 'safe' wishes.

I agree, a Vegas trip is most necessary. We could start tossing her name around when we get there and see what kind of looks we get, then make sure to follow in her footsteps so that our names evoke those same kind of looks!!

I'm with you on the wanting your kids with you thing. We had a really bad storm come through a couple summers ago and I was here at work in a concrete shelter(advantage of working on a military reservation)and my kids were with a friend who I knew would do anything to make sure they were safe, but I was still chomping at the bit to get out and go to them. One advantage I have here at my location is that we get the weather a good 15 minutes before it hits at home, which is a straight east shot from me, so I can call and tell them what's coming and what to do. Still would rather be there...

Hope you get through without any damage.

Well, she looks like d, and she sounds like d. Maybe we should all head out to Vegas anyway just to make sure she isn't there. I love that quote too, LUV. I have a friend like that.... Not that we've ever been in jail together. But if one of us ever did land in there, I can guarantee the other would be right there too!!!! :p

Great, nearly every school in town has decided to close early, except Shorty's. I'm tryin to decide if his school is a safer storm shelter than our little closet under the stairs. Maybe he's better off there. But my mother grizzly instincts tell me he should be here where I can see him.

CC, I LOVE that saying!!! I'm passing that on to a very special friend that I know will share that sentiment. Have fun in Indy! Doesn't look like the weather's going to be the best for you.

Yesterday didn't get any better either I'm sad to say. After the torture at the office I was looking forward to going home and getting a little sympathy, but "Noooooo!" As I'm lamenting the details of the afternoon(we had already talked about the morning at lunch time) to my hubby, I realize that he is looking over my shoulder at the TV behind me. I stopped midsentence, got up from the table, and didn't speak to him for the rest of the evening. I get to listen to my daughter complain about teachers, my son complain about not having enough time to play with friends and my husband complain about work, but I can't get 5 minutes to do my venting.

I found sympathy from a friend who e-mailed me to tell me she'd had an equally bad day. We talked on the phone this morning and agreed that we were going to have better days today and start looking for other jobs. The coworker seems a bit humbled today. Seems one of the IT guys caught him this morning and must have filled him in on the efforts of yesterday. Maybe he realizes how much time and effort this stuff takes? Wishful thinking there!

Girl Scout cookies came!!!!! The day can't be all bad when you can fill your face with Thin Mints!

Lots of baking today and tomorrow to prep for our spring carnival. The kitchen counter at home will be filled with goodies!!! My last year doing the bake shop! That should get my stress out of my system!

Should we send out a search party for d?
