Hey, all! I'm not really new around here, but new to the thread. I see most of you 'regulars' seem spread around the country. Me, I'm in southern California. I'm the pres. of our school's PTC. Been doing it for about a year. It was in shambles (and no involvement) when I took over, but with some hard work I'm just now beginning to see the rewards. Anyway, that's the short story... how 'bout the rest of you?
By the way, I'm Brandon. And it's nice to meet you all!

Gosh CC, I'm sorry to hear about all your moving woes. Hope you find another house that is just as wonderful. Is your son sick or is it just missing days from the travel through the Midwest? He's a smart kid, he'll get those test done and do fine I'm sure.

The thing that bugs me about the gal at middle school is that she complains about lack of help and several parents have stepped up, but she bypasses them and just does things on her own. You shouldn't complain about "doing it all" when you don't take advantage of the people who have said they would help. I told her weeks ago that I would be happy to takeover one of her big projects for next year. She said that would be great, but I've heard nothing from her since. My husband even WANTS me to take on this project which is totally amazing, so she'd better hand it over before he changes his mind!

I'm in pugatory, that's where I am..... We've just this minute officially told the builder that we aren't buying his moldy house. Now we're on to Plan B, which hubby just confessed was really his Plan A all along but he said yes to the other house because he knew how much I really liked it. I appreciate that but am glad to know that we're actually going to work on the one now that he really wanted all along.

Shorty has missed four days of school already and will miss tomorrow too. I guess it isn't a very big deal except 9 weeks testing started today. By the time he gets back to school he'll have four exams to make up.

All in all, it looks like we'll be moving in the summer now instead of next week.

What will you do, LUV, with all that time? I suspect you'll enjoy it for about a week then fill it right back up with all kinds of new stuff! But, yeah, I've notice too that middle school PTOs do seem to be one woman shows. If anyone can change that, it's you!

Wow, where is everyone?! We need to start looking for a new TV. The one in the bedroom is dying, so I'm thinking big new one for the living room and that current TV comes upstairs. Hubby was in on the government hearings(Yes, there were government hearings) on HDTV several years ago and the television industry is his area of expertise, so this should be a VERY LONG process of finding just the RIGHT telly for us. Hmmm, I wonder if he'd move faster if I secretly stuck a screwdriver in just the right spot among all those circuit boards......

I'm kind of lost at the moment. We're getting to the time of year where our group has finished all it's big events and I have very little to do. Usually I start plans for next year, but I won't be here next year(on to middle school with the youngest) and I'm not sure how much I can do for the middle school PTO since they seem to be a one woman show over there. I guess I'll just have to be a little pushy. What will I do with all that time?

not unless they've been there for 15 yrs or longer - dont think I've been to Avon since high school or college days

I never understood the look but dont touch concept (well I do actually) but its more fun when they can touch, taste, feel, etc (well taste probably wouldnt be good) - associate a feeling or experience with a product, service - to remember it.

Hey we've got HDTV - I'm still waiting for HDTV Smell-a-vison (or did that go the way of the BetaMax??)

We love Mythbusters at my house. Shorty loves the marathons so he can watch it all day and night. It has to be the coolest job ever when your biggest decision is how much explosives to use! My favorite movie that I watch every time it comes on is 50 First Dates with Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore. It's a silly movie but I love it.

Well, our 'greatest house ever' has toxigenic, pathogenic, and allergenic mold in it, lest any one kind feel left out..... So, we're back at square one. Instead of driving back home we drove to Peoria to start looking at houses again.

We had a great time at the trade show in Indy, tons of foot traffic through our booth. And I felt a lot more knowledgeable since it was our car there this time instead of the Caprice Wagon. I was a big hit because I let little kids sit in the driver's seat so their parents could take their pictures. Lots of folks won't even let people touch their cars. Whatever. They had fun and I had fun so it was worth it! Oh, yeah, AND I got to have Steak n Shake for supper last night. I had to wait all the way to Sunday to have it but it was so, so yummy!

Shawn, we ate at Papa Joe's in Avon Saturday night. It was probably the best Italian food I've ever had. Have you ever been there? When you go back home for a visit, you might want to give them a try.
