CC- Those days are long gone, i'm afraid. Thank you cards are becoming more and more rare, as is RSVPs (at least out here in cali). I received a thank you card just this week from a baby shower... and it was hand written, personal, and quite long (for a thank you). I really surprised me... well, not totally, because our friends are classy enough to do that, but it did make the normal thank you card stick out like a sore thumb.
We try to always personalize each thank you card, with name and gift... it really does make a difference.

To answer your questions:
Favorite car? Big ol' pickup truck.... something to tow the trailer with.
Best music? Not a big music fan, can get into anything. Hate the hip-hop, well, at least the modern versions... Right now, it's Hilary Duff and the likes in my car because of my daughter (6)... or baby einstein for my boy (4 months).
Frozen or on the rocks? - Frozen baby! I'll take one of them JUMBO margaritas about now! We're celebrating St. Patty's here at school today because we're on spring break starting in 3 1/2 hours (not that i'm counting) ;)

I have a question. Is it a new thing for the bride and groom to send out generic Thank You cards to folks who very carefully, lovingly and generously purchase a gift for them?

In the past year I've received two Thank You cards after sending a gift. (Hey, at least they're sending Thank You's....) The first one said, "Dear Xyz Family, Thank you for the lovely gift." and was signed by the bride and groom. The second one didn't even address us personally. It just said "Thank you for the wedding gift." and was signed.

I'm picturing a bride sitting in front of the tv writing the exact same message on every one of about 100 to 200 cards then stacking them in a box. Along with the cards is a check list of donors, uh, I mean invited guests. Then, once a gift arrives, your name is checked off, an impersonal and insincere card is dropped in the mail and they move on.

I don't expect some long, flowery thank you but, gosh, mention me by name and acknowledge the actual gift that was chosen. Something like, "Dear CrewChief Family, Thank you so much for the great luggage set. Fondly, Mr. and Mrs. Jones"

Maybe I'm just too old fashioned......

Yep, cottonwood, I'm a great big shining star.... I was tickled to be quoted. It's easy enough to sit in front of your computer and wonder how the words you send into cyberspace will be recieved.

Any more cinnamon rolls? I just got home and I'm starving! Eleven hours on the road.:( We were rewarded by a beautiful sunset in Brentwood, TN. Thanks, PTOCES, for the hospitality.

On St. Patrick's Day my dad, who's always had the luck of the Irish on his side, will celebrate his one year anniversary post triple bypass surgery. He's feeling better than ever and looks like it too!

cottonwood, we ask everyone nosey questions when they come in here. So.....

Favorite car?
Best music?
Frozen or on the rocks?

Thanks everyone for the welcome... and the drinks!

CC- don't know if i'm late or not on this, but hey! I saw you made the PTO Today March issue, in the message boards section... I hope to make it there someday, you're my new inspiration! (and if i missed anybody else's name, sorry, i haven't made the connection yet)

Ohio- If you don't mind me asking, where in Ohio are you? I lived in Dayton for several years, and my family lives in Chillicothe.
