Somewhere else in this forum I read an idea for having a prize for a kid be lunch with a policeman or fireman. I thought that was a great idea!

drgldy.....what does the ohio lottery donate...scratch offs?? Do you have their address? Cleveland Indians will also send a player to your school in the off season for free. They told me to write a letter to their community relations dept in Dec. for an early spring appearance before they head down to Winterhaven. In the mean time they are sending me some team memorabilia.

Mykidsmom, as far as dealerships, some of the ones near us have donated car "detailing" (very thorough car wash -- inside & out). We're in a fairly rural area and we don't really have too many businesses in our township. All the nearby towns have schools in them that also ask for donations. Therefore I contact ANY local business I can think of. If they don't have anything appropriate to donate, they give us cash & we buy stuff for our auction. Some businesses have even bought "things", then donated them. The company that runs our school buses even donates a case of oil.

Take Care,
Jo

hey again. :> )
both Six Flags and Paramount theme parks say that they donate to pta/pto's as well. Look up their web sites and under contact us there is a phone # to call. (specific to the park closest to you) They too want the details on your letterhead. Maggie
(see what happens when my 6yr old goes to art camp? I have all kinds of time to spend on the web. :> ))

This is a hoot!!

WalMart and Sam's- you leave your donation letter (on stationary) with the service desk
Sam's needs 30 days but have come through for me in a pinch!

KMart- I delt with the Human Resoures Director (really nice woman) and gave her a letter on letterhead also. She too took some time to approve as she had a HUGE stack of requests!

I have also "used" my friends that sell Mary Kay, Pamper Chef, House of LLyod- It's great advertising for them and terrific items of donation!

Has anyone tried a dealership for oil changes etc?? I've been thinking about it! Believe it or not but John Elway has a team of car dealerships with his name on them! Yeah I'm in Bronco land!
