I have e-mailed to everyone who is a registered user my mailing list. If anyone wants a copy, e-mail me and I will send it. There's no reason for everyone to input the addresses over again!

Nevadamom -

We did get Disneyland tickets last year. I haven't heard about the hotel thing, that seems odd!

I will work on my list and try to get it posted. Alot of the addresses are local but it will give you an idea of who to go after!

That would be great if you could post the addresses. It would make life a lot easier for me; I've been searching websites and it takes a long time!! Thanks for all your help! Your donation letter was great.

Intomykids--did you receive a donation from Disneyland this year? Two years ago they told us that they would only send passes if we sent proof that the winners had hotel reservations and when they would be there. We couldn't figure out any way to do that since we didn't know who would get the passes. Then last winter when I sent a letter they never responded. Thanks for the info!

The following is the letter I used last year to solicit donations (both locally and nationwide). We had a pretty good response for our first year. I went to the local sports team's web pages and got addresses. I sent everything "attn: community relations". Disneyland (or world) will send 4 tickets to anyone. I had really good luck with most of the kid type attractions (roller rinks, karate, gymnastics). I'll try to post my list of address but a few of the letters came back and I haven't updated it yet.

Here is my letter:

Franklin School needs your help!

Franklin School is an exciting, student-centered K-8 school located in rolling hills at the base of the Sierra Nevada Mountain Range. Our school district serves the towns of Loomis and Granite Bay. Our campus is secluded and beautiful. With park-like grounds, Franklin School is a safe and attractive site on which our 700 children can become actively engaged in, and excited about, their own education.

Over the years Franklin has had a great deal of support from their staff, parents and children. Now we are looking to the community for support.

Franklin School will be holding our annual Fall Festival on October 28, 2000. The festival not only is a fun family event, but a substantial fundraiser for the schools’ Parent Teacher Club. Funds raised will be used to provide programs and materials for our children at Franklin School. We are asking the general community to donate gift certificates, tickets, merchandise or any other item that could be used in our raffle or silent auction. Any and all donations, large or small, will be greatly appreciated and are tax deductible. We will be recognizing all donors in our monthly newsletters.

If you have any questions regarding our fundraiser please do not hesitate to contact Sandy at(Phone # deleted!). Arrangements can be made to pick up donations if you prefer.

Thank you in advance for your generous donation. Donations can be sent to the following address:

Franklin Elementary School
Parent Teacher Club, Inc.
Attn: Fall Festival

Respectfully,
Sandy

I am a new PTO President and was wondering when requesting written donations from companies, do you use your school letterhead or do you have letterhead for your PTO?

Does anyone have a sample letter?

Thanks for your help.
