Silver, I'm so sorry..... I can't stop laughing!

The story of why I didn't sleep last night ....
Exhausted from the heat, work and duties of family life Pa and I settle down for a good nights rest. Lights are out, air conditioning is humming along, sheets are wrapped around you nicely. Just as you begin to fall into the first stages of deep sleep something falls from above and hits you on the face. You reach up only to find this farely large whatever has a long tail, feels somewhat cold and slippery. Screaming Pa and I rush to turn on the lights. What do we find? Our son thought it would be fun to toss his sticky lizzards to the top of our bedroom ceiling. Yup ~ real funny at 11:30pm.

Wow, it is just way too early for all these viruses to be going around! One of the guys here at work is sick.(He said nothing, but his wife called and told me.) I'm sending him home, so I don't get it!!

I'm going to ask my son how he thinks frogs turn off lights and see what he comes up with! I absolutely love how kids think! Too cute! Hey d, you don't suppose he's been licking ALL the light switches in the house do you? Could explain the spread of the stomach bug.....

We have a heat warning for today with heat indexes expected to reach 108 - 109!!! Right now it's slightly overcast and 76 so I'm going to try to get the yard mowed.

Shorty's new school is air conditioned. Yippee! I've also heard the very rarely uttered "I can't wait 'til school starts" comment.

The new school's parent group seems good. They had a nice table at registration: forms for directory info ($2 to buy one - fair), volunteer contact info, spirit wear, scrip stuff, donation jar, name tags on the officers, etc. Nice, casual presence. They were very clearly there and active but not pushy. I hope that's a good sign for how they run their business. I'm interested in getting more involved this year.

Stomach flu in Alabama and Illinois. Strep throat too ~ in Alabama. Isn't it awfully early for strep? But the tests were positive. I just hope we didn't carry it back with us.

We're going to a Redskins preseason game tonight---Lord I hope it isn't steamy. Haven't even ventured out yet becasue it looks so doggone hazy.

Of course all of that means the workers who come for one day and aren't back for 2 make me feel badly when they are working because it is so hot. Next Thursday is plaster day and then they put acid in the pool for the lining to set (weird huh) so 4 days after that we're supposed to be wet and willy.
