Well, we're back from Florida and quite soggy. Between splashy rides, Shamu's tail, spotty thunderstorms and humidity that just wouldn't quit, we were wet for most of the vacation. Got a huge kick out of the sea lions. Some were quite the hams for the camera! I'm done with Florida for a long while now, unless we just make a trip to go to the designer outlet mall in Orlando. How about a Fendi bag for half price? That means you're only paying $1000 instead of $2000!!! Did get a pair of Ann Klein jeans that fit perfectly, but was mostly just amused in some of the shops. Who buys $800 pairs of shoes?! My 13 year old daughter did get a kick out of trying on some really funky shoes in the Ferragamo shop-purple patent leather ankle boots and some even stranger things.

d, sorry to hear about your hubby's stepmom. I'm with you on the living will subject, also don't forget organ donation. In our state you can sign up on your driver's license as an organ donor, so emergency personnel know right away.

crazy4, I've got a 6th grader and an 8th grader and believe me middle school is a different animal. The kids don't want you around as much, the school has fewer opportunities for involvment, and let's not forget those hormones. If you've been a really involved volunteer at the elementary level it can be quite a shock to the system to go to middle school. We do have a parent group at our school so I have gotten involved there.

Hey Rocky, watch me pull a rabbit out of my hat.

Congrats on the table visitors Menlo!!! Doesn't it just give a sigh of relief to know that people do see us and recognize us - that's the 1st step!

d - "Kids say the darndest things..."! My oldest has decided that when she has kids, she's only having 1. Her reason - "So I don't have to listen to them fight!"

Everyone is talking about going back to school already. I haven't had to think about supplies yet. We don't even find out our kids' teachers until 2 weeks from now. I think I'm more excited than the girls are - isn't that awful?

Family reunion starts tonight, right thru Sunday night. Great group of people (hubby's family). I'm thankful all the time that I was blessed with a great group of in-laws.

Have a great weekend everyone!

HAHAHAHAHA--10 year old just was fighting with the 8 year old and said
"I will hit you so hard your grandchildren will hurt"....

I'm sure that wasn't original but maybe that will become my quote :)!!!!!

Checking in! Hubby back from ordeal with his dad's wife. She passed away 5 hours after being removed from life support. It is so easy to have the margarita conversation about not wanting life support but if we don't get living wills drawn up than our families have to make a gut wrenching decision. I don't know what I would have done...just "hoping" that she's still in there and feeling so guilty to have to pull the life support. So--I believe the kindest thing we can do for our families is to have the legal document done that takes the decision making off their shoulders...now just getting to the lawyers office you know...
So one step closer to the yard being done. Suspect we're not going to get much swimming this summer. Although the pool is heated -- someone told me it costs about 100 dollars a pop to heat the pool to a comfortable level...eeeggaaadddsss....I don't have the extra 100 bucks cause I'm getting a POOL!!!!

Life is so simple to me :). Glad you're home safely Crazy--ditto on the quote..I love Maya...I've like most the quotes I've seen here. We're working the calendar now for the PTO membership sign ups. Amazing how much stuff is in there already. When do they have time to teach?

Love the new quote Crazy. MA is so uplifting ... top shelf as many would say.
We are also begining to review the back to school list this week. So many parents in our region are shopping for the supplies but waiting until a few weeks into school before hitting the clothing racks ... most site money shortage and many kids just want to see what's in style first. Good strategy for middle school IMO Crazy.
