It's a hectic week here-shortage of staff, unexpected govt visitor, lost truckers, phones that don't work, anal retentive engineer who keeps calling and e-mailing me(No, the work isn't done because you keep interrupting me!), and then there is school stuff-early outs, repeated kid phone calls, teachers calling about reading program, spirit wear inventory/sales.... It just goes on and on.

Sounds like you've got yourself busy too. Your first PTO encounter sounded positive-that's great! It's fun to kind of just volunteer for what you like and not have the stress. Oh pooh, that reminds me, I'm supposed to go to a meeting for the Safe Routes to School committee tomorrow at 9am! I shouldn't miss this one. Wonder if they could conference me in! I think I said "Yes." too many times this summer.

Guess I'd better get back to work. Send some chocolate cinnamon bread my way!

I stopped at Starbucks. They have a new thing ~ chocolate cinnamon bread. Mmmmmmm I think I have a new favorite.

d - Yippee!!! You have a pool!!!!! And a jacuzzi?!?! Excellent... (a la Wayne & Garth...;)) Just in time for a fantastic Labor Day Weekend.

First PTO event as an 'at large' volunteer was last night. It was Back to School Night. It's great. I don't have to make any decisions, run around like a crazy person, worry about the details. I just show up and do what I'm told. I could get used to this.

Thanks for the kind words, d. Last week, I was the only one prepared for Music class. This week, everyone was prepared and the conversations were pretty lively. From time to time someone would say something really smart and then look at me like, "See, you aren't a shoe in for teacher's pet just yet."

What's brewin' this morning? I could go for a giant vanilla latte and some pumpkin bread myself. I think I'll head over to Starbucks. Can I pick up anything for the rest of you?

CC--you are a thumbs up kind of gal. I pulled out an old math paper I'd done in college the other day and didn't recognize a thing but my name on the top. I just keep it for my alzheimer days so I can show the boys what I USED to do....

All this talk of higher education is giving me nightmares. I keep having dreams about exams, papers due, being late for class etc. Syllabus will get you every time CC - kinda like getting a paper in front of you with the last instructions as not to put your name on the paper ... ah good times.
Steamy here today, a good day to sit by the pool for a few hours with a book. Kids are quite concerned about lunch today ... they opened the fridge to find milk, eggs, juice, carrots, potatoes and a whole lot of nothing. I of course see great brunch fixings but something tells me thats not going to fly with them.
