Today, I gave 3 pizza parties for top sellers of our Spring Catalog. I am so tired of PIZZA!
My middle son was in one of the classes, and we were listening to the new Radio Disney CD and he asked me to teach his class how to do the Cha Cha Slide in their chairs, because we do it when we are on long car trips. So I wound up doing it for all 3 classes. I don't think I have ever had so much fun talking kids into staying in their seats. It's times like that, when I'm not bogged down with teachers griping or parent complaints, when I remember why I love my volunteer job!

The irony of commitment is that it’s deeply liberating-in work, in play, in love. The act frees you from the tyranny of your internal critic, from the fear that likes to dress itself up and parade around as rational hesitation. To commit is to remove your head as the barrier to your life. --Anne Morris

A long time ago, when I worked, was single, and had no kids. I had a boss that would take her kids to "Florida". They would drive about an hour or so and stay in a hotel with an indoor pool for the weekend. She said the kids never knew the difference!!!

I used to think she was mean but this year its not sounding like a bad idea!!!

We have so many weekends filled with activities that I was originally planning to use that long spring break weekend to just stay home and catch up, but you know the stress is just getting to be too much and I'm thinking a short getaway to somewhere where no one can find us sounds pretty good. Might make a short roadtrip to a nice hotel with a pool and do some museums, movies, and shopping.

Thanks for the beer Shawn. Believe it or not I am dying for some hot, spicy food today. Won't be Mickey D's though!

We are spending a few days at Great Wolf Lodge. We went a few years ago and had a blast and the kids were so worn out they didn't beg to do anything else the rest of the time!
