I agree, based solely on information and opinions here on this post, that the Principal should support the PTO. We don't really know Bayshore or her "crazy" volunteer - we only know what's been said here. If there truly is one off kilter person wreaking havoc with an established, functioning and well respected team then the leader of the school that benefits from the team's work should step in and guide them through the situation the best way he sees fit.

You know some people will just never "get it" no matter who says it, or what is said to them. Some people believe what they want, and that is usually what is convient for them at the time.

I say a 7 page letter is extreme, what was the point of asking all those questions? Is she looking for her own private PTO tutor. Learn over time like the rest of us, volunteer as needed. We all start out that way, why is this woman any different?

poison? reading the first post....seems simply like maybe the principal appointed her to a position, or misstated something, or sometihing was misunderstood by the person listening. details arent all here. irrespective of later infos, from the getgo, looks like communication with the princiapl was the issue to be resolved, or interpretation of it. always good to sit down again with the source of misunderstandings or miscommunication or misinterpretation, and work things out one on one.
seems not too hard to work out the original misunderstanding, by sitting down and talking face to face, not take sides.
seems to me it shouldnt be hard to find a solution to this problem if the princiapl talks to the person and the prez together.

" oh my" I disagree with you about the principal's position. While IN THEORY, you are right, the reality is that the principal NEEDS his good solid volunteers, and his board. If this one woman is spreading poison, then there's nothing wrong with him leaning toward the side of normalcy, efficiency and good volunteerism, and quietly supporting his team. As far as I am concerned, that's good people management. He's gotta keep his board happy.

"The principle was on our side" this is sad to hear....one would hope a head of school remain neutral and objective and non partisan and be a fair intermediary, and thereby help bring folks together, not create further diviseness by taking any one side that does not solve problems. good luck to you. and re the above post, recent studies have proven that very thing, that more money to schools does not correlate to better performance of the children.
