It's been a while since you asked but just to let you know...I am just getting into this but do check more frequent than I post. I refer to this as "my new favorite message board". I speak of it so highly (and often) people ask me what's going on at my "new favorite message board". You all are truly a wealth of information...Thanks a bunch!!!!! :D

No, pals, thank you!!! You were kind enough to help with info on my 1023, and that gesture really meant a lot to me. We're still waiting to hear, but with the example you gave me it helped clarify what they wanted, and I can't see how they can refuse us!! I'l say it again, I love these boards, and have found the help and support to be a real life saver!

I guess i am an addict. I check it at least three times a day if Im not working and twice if i am working. THe forum has become a great place to hear and learn from all of you. It's nice to know that whether its a PTO, HSA or PTA we all go through the same things. This forum has also made me realize how important it is to stay on top of things and continue to strive to better yourself. As a leader I have grown so much because of all the great input on here!! Our group is so much better off....thanks

I check the forums at least once a day. More often if I have been following a thread. I post if I think I have something to offer of value and I won't hesitate to ask a question of my own. My own parent club made me feel like an outsider the first year I joined. I have never felt that way here. I have noticed that the more seasoned users often play the been there and done that card. We have people on our board that are like that. But being a Title One school, having our boundaries and principal keep changing almost every year the dynamics of our school are then different as well. So what worked last year may not be a success this year. So I tend to take things with a grain of salt.

I think the personal tidbits would be fun but would have no bearing on the wonderful info we are provided here. I have been on our board for 3 years now and only have 2 more years at this school. Then I will also be in the Jr. High (Middle School) mode. It will be interesting to see how it differs.

Thank you all for the wonderful advice and the many answers to my questions. It is also a great feeling to be able to offer some info of my own once in awhile.

Kathie, I have also noticed that there is a lot of emphasis on elementary school issues. Maybe if you start some topics, you could get the conversations on Jr High and HS issues flowing. It isn't a concern for me yet (my oldest is 6), but I do read the archives so eventually I'll be really interested. I've been involved with nonprofit youth groups so I may actually have some thing to share even though I'm not to that stage yet.

I too look on here a few times a day. My only complaint is that it's so elementary school centered. The other bb's that I post on are college bulletin boards. Wish there was something for parents of older kids. My youngest is going into Middle School in the fall, my middle will be a junior in HS and my oldest just finished her first year of college. I'm aging out of this bulletin board!
