Not fitting in as President

Hey, I want to quote someone too! How about this?

Walter Lippmann
The final test of a leader is that he leaves behind him in other men the conviction and the will to carry on.

Some people come into our lives and quickly go. Some stay for awhile and leave footprints on our hearts. And we are never, ever the same."

"The ultimate aim of karate lies not in victory or defeat but in the true perfection of one's character."

dlf - i am SURE there are many good stories out there, more good than bad BUT -- if it aint broke dont fix it.....and those happy go luckies arent the ones that come here to post.....i think boards like these by their very nature draw (predominantly but not exclusively obviously) the ones with questions about how things can be done better or have gripes/need to vent. so you troopers out there who alwyas stay with the boards and give your sound advice based on yrs and yrs of tried and true experience, are to be commmended to not get frustrated at hearing all the PROBLEMS and sagas and DRAMAS that seem to be out there in PTO/PTA land! keep up the good work...cuz.. "Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed individuals can change the world, indeed that’s the only thing that ever has." Margaret Mead

Actually you know I can't complain. I really do get constant positive feedback from folks (I think because I quick to give it) and LOVE it when the kids wave at me and smile and thank me for things we do. I even had one mom write me an 8 page hand written "A day without our PTO President" letter. It was very touching and when I need a boost I go back to it....gotta take em when you can ....Just so folks know there are also great sides to this as well!!!!

i like this one, not neccessarily related to anything PTO wise, just life in general:

HA--My t-shirt was on the front:
"Volunteer-it's a blast" and on the back
"That sometimes leaves a sucking chest wound"
Boy does it feel that way sometimes ...dianna

I had two saying my first year, of course, I only said them to my husband! One was, "Go to heck" (you get the idea), the other was "Everybody wants to be President, but nobody wants the job." I really thought about putting that on a t-shirt! You will always have to deal with people who don't want to do new things or who are afraid. Keep your head up and don't let the turkeys get you down!
