Not fitting in as President

Alot of times it is a thankless job, you get complaints from parents who aren't involved, have to put volunteers together with all sorts of different personalities, will be call a cliche no matter how hard you try, and yes there will be people who try to make your life a living hell. I have decided that after doing this for awhile you actually get better with each experience...things that bothered me four years ago and now looked at and laughed at. If no one said it to you "thank You for being your school's parent group president." Rememeber the smiles on those childrens faces and forget the rest...

I hope time will blur those awful memories and leave you and your kids only with the pleasant memories of how you helped make the school a better place.

I am 2 weeks away from finishing up my term as PTO President. I have had my shares of life's ups and downs like everybody and I hope I am a mentally sound woman and mother but HONESTLY, this has been one of the very worst years in my 40 plus years. I have worked as hard as I can, and was well-intentioned (not perfect obviously) but I cannot believe the way you get treated in this job, I have never had people so ready to back-stab, so ready to lie, manipulate, do bizarre things, fight over crazy stuff, than this year as PTO Pres.

I am very glad to finish it and even though I like to work, it's not the work I am glad to be done with, it's the hateful women. They are just witches, with a few jewels slipped into the bunch. Sorry to post this, but I just have to say it, I would rather bungee jump than do this year again.
