Okay, I'm calm now. Lunch was wonderful(although I took longer than I should have). My friend and I can always talk each other down from the proverbial "cliff" we're standing on. You know when someone says to me "You're kids do so well in school, it must be so great to have it that easy." I just smile and say how good of kids they are and how proud I am of them, but they have their issues too and it's not always easy.

I think it might be a good night to have milkshakes and some private Mommy and Daughter time.

luvmykids, I know how you feel! My son is gifted and doesn't always have the best judgement... I really worry about him getting caught up with a bad crowd to be accepted. He's very small for his age, and often feels the need to 'prove himself.' Fortunately he is in a self contained classroom so he has a lot of opportunity to interact with same age academic peers rather than always have to seek out older kids, but that older kid with the bad boy attitude always seems to catch his attention on the playground or at parks and recs. I hope the teacher reports back with positive news and your lunch lifts your spirits!

I'm ready to binge on the Girl Scout cookies in my desk and my blood sugar really doesn't need that. I have a 10 year old daughter who went into meltdown this morning because I forced her to let me comb the giant rat out of the back of her hair. There is more going on there than hair, but she's not saying. I have suspicions from bits of conversations that she is hanging out again with some kids whose parents let them "run free" more than we allow. She hung out with them last year and the whole school year was this emotional rollercoaster. She's been acting strange the last two weeks and for the last two weeks, I've heard their names come up. I called her teacher and she's going to see if she can keep an eye out and figure out if there is something really going on. Thank goodness she has a teacher who wants to help! She's gifted and is right at the age where girl's tend to start "dumbing down" due to peer pressure.

Gonna have lunch with a friend and try to cheer up, because right now I want to lay my head on my desk and cry.

Hey Rocky, watch me pull a rabbit out of my hat.

Girly, I have some dove dark chocolate at my office that I stash just for days like that. I will cyber-send you some tomorrow.

What a day! We just finished our Kathryn Beich fundraiser so I have tons of chocolate-cause I orded at least one of everything. I'll just offer the chocolate espresso beans, chocolate toffee pistachios, and the chocolate covered pretzels. Best fundraiser I have ever done. Now if only I could get the last 35 parents to pickup their children's orders! I am officially on Spring Break from college until 3/28 and I'm putting good use to the days before the kids are out by taking afternoon naps with the baby.

The irony of commitment is that it’s deeply liberating-in work, in play, in love. The act frees you from the tyranny of your internal critic, from the fear that likes to dress itself up and parade around as rational hesitation. To commit is to remove your head as the barrier to your life. --Anne Morris

Luv comes dancing into the bar singing "It's over, it's over!!"

Yes, spring carnival is over and I didn't even kill anyone!(My son was walking a fine line for awhile though.) Haven't heard the profit numbers yet, but I think we did okay. Now on to Book Fair!!!

I would like something sweet with lots of fruit and one of those little umbrellas!

I feel disco-ish. KC and the Sunshine Band's Shake Your Booty comin' up on the old juke box!

Hey Rocky, watch me pull a rabbit out of my hat.
