My goodness, almost two weeks without a visitor, Page Two is going to be feeling left out.

I have my own spring cleaning to get done but I'll have a go in here. Since there's no one to keep me company, I might as well run the dust cloth down the bar. And knock off a few cobwebs. [img]smile.gif[/img]

I made THE most delicious cake yesterday. Used a white box cake mix and added frozen orange juice concentrate in place of the water. With vanilla frosting, it tastes almost like an orange creamsicle. I'll leave it on the bar if anyone would care to try it.

OK, the bar is gleaming and there are no spiders to be found. I don't do windows, maybe we could take up a collection and hire a window cleaning company? Just a thought.

Hopefully being tidied up a bit will induce a few more visitors....either that or the thread being bumped to the top again...LOL

You know as I have thought about this whole "being President again" thing, I've come to a decision. Well, kind of. I think I'll hold back from formally announcing my candidacy until I see who else comes forward. I've heard through the grapevine about one person who expressed interest that if they announce their desire, I'm in there. They have some very different and somewhat scary ideas on things sometimes. If someone decent comes forward then I will offer my services in another capacity. I really enjoyed doing family involvement kinds of things this year and wouldn't mind putting some of the new ideas I have on the table for next year. Plus there is a school board election coming up next fall and I've been asked by several people to consider running in that race, and that's something that does interest me. My husband shudders at that suggestion!!!

It was kind of a "Hey, we could do this together." for this other mom and I. We really need to sit down and talk seriously about what each of us would like to do and the direction we want the group to go next year so we are sure we're on the same page. We seem very similar in our values and ideals, but until you actually talk about specifics you never know. Thought I'd call her tonight and see if we can get together this weekend to figure out if this is really what we want to do or if we were just caught up in the moment!

Now I'm nervous eating. Get the peanuts away from me!!

I understand the uncertainty. 2 years as secretary, I see the option to be be pres for 2 years. Really want to try new ideas and keep things moving, but then the doubts. Then I figure I will have middle schoolers for only 3 more years and then being part of the board is no longer an option. I think I will go for it. Nothing vetured nothing gained. Spring break almost done. 4th quarter begining on Monday. Where did the year go? :eek:

We really enjoy feeding the birds at our house. We keep the feed in a metal garbage can and when you open the lid there are some of the birds that just show up out of nowhere! We even have a couple that will sit in the bush or on the deck three feet from you while you fill the feeders. That really thrills the kids.

Well, I didn't tape my mouth or sit on my hands, but I did pretty well. After the meeting was adjourned the current Prez was hitting up people to run for positions next year. She hit me up for Prez. I've done it before and could do it again, but not sure I want that stress. I did have another mom offer to do it with me. I let it roll around in my head last night to see how it felt, and now I need to ask my family how they would feel. It's going to be a tough year next year due to some changes in attendance centers(some kids getting moved out/others moving in). Lots of hard feelings right now. I have tons of ideas on making people feel welcome and more comfortable with the changes, but I just don't know.....

Love those micro fiber cloths too! Got some a couple of years ago at Target on a markdown shelf. I love that I can wash them out and reuse too. All that enviromentally friendly thing! You know I always feel happier and a little more content when my house is clean and in order. Is that a Feng Shui kind of thing or am I just obsessed?

I opened a couple of windows and a set of the french doors yesterday. The house smelled so nice and fresh and I loved being able to hear the birds singing and the kids laughing in the backyard while I puttered around the house.
