OK, PTOCES, I'm going to have to try the peanuts and Coke thing. Are there certain kinds of peanuts or just regular ol' Planters. And does it work in Diet Coke?

Hmmmm, an internet based business that brings the best and brightest PTO minds together and makes millions for the founders..... Any ideas Tim? ;)

Shawn, when I'm talking to you I feel like I'm talking to my very own twin brother, Sam. I have to constantly remind myself that you're not him. He is, by the way, the most exceptionally cool person I know. He's the only other person I know who loves Shawn Mullins as much as I do.

dlf - you should just write a book called Slogans for Dummies or something like that. YOU would make millions!

The move is just days away and the single most important thing my husband can think to do is measure all of the work benches in the garage so we can build the exact same ones in our new garage. He's 6'2" and I'm 5'5" so along with those benches, he builds a step for me. He calls it the Wanda Step. Maybe he should get a patent on that.

We're anxiously awaiting the shuttle launch. How cool is it that it's taking off on the 4th of July?!?!?! Then we're off to get lunch and then to see the new Superman movie.

Happy 4th to everyone!!!

Shawn- Myself and my husband are starting to look for other jobs now. We have both been with the same company for over 11 years.

I just don't know if I can leave that job secruity that I feel I have now. (I know that nothing is ever secure) He has to get out. He HATES his job. I just get worried that he won't find anything that is = in pay. We just built a house well not a "house"...a "HOUSE"...I need reassurance. I need to know that I can afford this house now. Ya know?

Good luck in your job hunt. I think we should start a business on line, make a million or so. I know that we could all come up with a great idea. WE ARE THE NUTS AND BOLTS BEHIND THE PTO/A'S!

Happy 4th to all.

I applied for a volunteer job a while back and was required to go through a more difficult interview and screening process than for any other paying job I'd held. I haven't had a paying job in over 4 years and was there for almost 7 years. So I was asked what have you been doing with yourself for the last 4 years (this was already on the application) and why I thought I was more qualified than the other applicants to work in the food distribution area and occasionally help in the childcare room. It was like duh!!!! I have 3 kids and a husband and married into a large Catholic family-there are kids coming out my ears most days. No one cooks in my house except me and I prepare food for my group and usually some grandparents or whoever is visiting or ill at the moment. It got me thinking to myself, no wonder they can't get and keep volunteers. It's not like I didn't have better things to do with my time. By the time they did a backgroud check and got back to me, i'd found another worth cause that actually wanted my help.

The irony of commitment is that it’s deeply liberating-in work, in play, in love. The act frees you from the tyranny of your internal critic, from the fear that likes to dress itself up and parade around as rational hesitation. To commit is to remove your head as the barrier to your life. --Anne Morris

Shawn, I'll second CC's comments. Hang in there some special will come your way soon. The guy sounds like a dip stick and wouldn't appreciate your talents and qualities. I'm sure you're better off not working for him.
