I wasn't trying to go into detail, but he seems to have some sort of disability, making him difficult to understand at time and very slow, and he kept trying to sell us stuff that we had no use for. It felt like he was there to try to further himself and not be helpful at all. When I tried to give him something to do, he kept trying to make it a business deal and for us to buy something from him. When he would ask questions about events (and I like questions) he would try to get us to do something else instead, totally ignoring us when we told him these were events that families liked and we had contracts to complete them. I did get two moms tell me today that I was more patient with him than they would have been and both of them offered to be my donation committee, one doing local and one doing national and one of them works for Walmart, so now we get some of that money!!! My grandma always said for every trouble were two rewards, you just have to quit worrying about the trouble long enough to see them.

The act frees you from the tyranny of your internal critic, from the fear that likes to dress itself up and parade around as rational hesitation. Great. Now that you know who the problem parent is, you can get on with business. ;) I'm kinda partial to the annoying know-it-all new guy because that's usually me!!! No, I know, it's hard to believe, but it's true. ;) ;) ;)

Give the guy something really hard to do so he'll be too tired at the end of the day to complain about anything.

mykids - how did the first day of kindergarten go today? Your little man is growing up right before your eyes, isn't he?!?!

I just got back from our 1st meeting of the year. I love our new principal but she has asked teachers to recruit a parent rep for their class to attend meetings and boost attendance, but this, of course, is a double edged sword. We got more help and some great ideas and then there is that one parent. You know the one, that has no clue, a personal agenda, or just can't be quiet long enough to get through the business. It was like no one could get him to be quiet, no matter what they tried. We were trying really hard to be nice so we didn't come across as mean or rude but I think he may have made more people want to never come back than the rest of us. Other than that, it was a pretty good meeting and lots of people offered to help get stuff done.
