Finishing up reconciling fundraiser orders/cash. Stupidity runs rampant.

8 phone calls from political candidates yesterday, 6 within a one hour period. Do Not Call legislation needs to be modified to include these phone calls.

Ahhh, stupidity. Yep, there's plenty of that to go around.

Elections and seasons is my thought process.
Other than that all we have is stupidity.

Roof! It's nice to see you. It hasn't been the same around here without you. I'm sorry to hear that your grandma is struggling with her illness. She's blessed to have someone like you watching out for her.

Silver - it stinks when your best intentions come back to bite you in the rear end. Especially when it's a friend who does it to you!

Is it my imagination or does the whole world seem to be uptight right now? I know there are plenty of things going on to make everyone tense but it sure does seem that there are so many more stressors than ever before.

Oh Silver, sit down here with me and have a cup of tea and a snickerdoodle. I was feeling the same way Saturday. Big write up in paper about a reading program at one of the schools. Great huh? Except that the article made it sound like this was the school's original, ingenious ideas except they all sounded terribly like the program we ran at our school last year and are doing again this year and have shared info district wide on our success. I'm thrilled it's working for them, but I think the reporter also needs to know that this school isn't the ONLY one doing great things. Gonna drop him a polite e-mail this morning.

You try to do someone a favor and it just comes back to bite you.

I am in a pickle. First off I have to say I am pissed & hurt; pissed more at myself at the moment for falling for this time old trickery but I am also hurt and having a hard time pulling the knife out of my back to sit straight.
There has been some drama and said friend confided in me – looking for advice - this has been the situation whenever drama is present – more often than I care to discuss. I gave said friend my thoughts – advice. Said friend then took it upon themselves to present the advice as their own original thought for gain rather than disclosing they had discussions with someone (anyone they wanted to remain anonymous if need be) and this person had the following idea.
I am kicking myself – I am older & know the world works more often like this than not - I should have known better - I haven’t known them long enough – I should have remained impartial – I should have recognized the pattern – I should have stepped away or stepped up and brought the idea to all parties involved in the drama - I cared too much in the moment. I shouldn’t have given myself permission to believe said person had the same set of standards I hold close. I am now going to try to pull this knife out and move on but I am having a hard time seeing the positive future this morning.
