I do make my own noodles. It's soooo easy. Beat eggs with a fork( I do 6 eggs for my family of 4). I also add about a half tsp of salt. Mix flour in with fork a cup at a time until the dough isn't super sticky. Drop it out on a floured surface and pat out until about 1/4 inch thick, then cut however you want. I usually use a pizza cutter to cut them. Everybody liked the hearts by the way!

onaroll, glad to hear the ankle is doing well. And you're cooking big!! I don't do meringue on my chocolate cream pie, I top it with whipped cream(the real stuff) and then chocolate shavings. I've had meringue go limp too-don't think I whipped the egg whites stiff enough.

Okay, now I'm hungry!

Hey Rocky, watch me pull a rabbit out of my hat.

:) Thank for the signature Shawn! It looks good. d - your roasted chicken made my mouth water, pomegranet butter? Mmmmm.

I have to say the pie turned out pretty good. My hubby asked me not to make another one any time soon though. WHAT? He said he was having a heck of a time trying not to have a 3rd piece and he's trying to lose a few pounds. - :p

I am sending you all what I know I can bake, home made white chocolate chip and raspberry biscotti, chocolate chip cookies and some hot cocoa with marshmallows. For you warm weather (I'm so jealous!) people - some raspberry lemonade.

You're right Shawn--just had discussion with my husband now that the pain in my hands is starting to set in. Many, many neighbors don't shovel "cause it's gonna melt" and now tonight all that good stuff on the driveway is going to freeze. Good luck with that tomorrow...
Just watched Flicka--what a great family movie...really worth the Blockbuster fee. What a terrific day this has been.

Boy--roasted chicken is the dinner for Vday--just left the table...roasted chicken glazed in pomagranet butter, roasted root veggies and orzo with butter and parm. It's all about the heart right :).

I must say however, I am still bowing in awe at the pie from scratch. I mean I love my family...but...

Heart noodles..do you make your own noodles.. I want to learn to do that but haven't had the courage to do the egg and flour thing...maybe lasagna noodles that I cut with a heart cutter after I cook them...oh my mind is all a tizzy.

Have a good evening everyone!!!

:) Hi all - popping in! It's been a while. Ankle surgery under the belt. Cast is off, funky looking / could kick someone's !#$ boot is on the ankle and all is getting well. Hope everyone here is well, warm and safe.

Snow? Did someone say snow? 'Course we still have it easy compared to pals up north and others with the ice. Us here in Syracuse are used to the snowy fluff. 2 and 1/2 feet and counting here.

Happy Valentines to everyone! Getting ready for our annual "Family Valentine Dinner". The kids get a huge kick out of it. Candles, milk out of wine glasses, roasted chicken, alfredo noodles and cheesy biscuits. For dessert - home made (yes, from scratch) chocolate cream pie. I love to bake, cookies, cakes, rolls, anything bready. Pies? Unkown territory. My meringue (sp?) is a bit flat...:o
