CC, that's fabulous! My daughter is that way too, I know she'll be getting some awards, but she doesn't want us there, so I will honor that wish. We'll just fuss over her and celebrate at home. I think it's partly the middle school attitude of "Heavens I don't want anyone to know I have parents!" mixed with a little humbleness that I am glad to see in her. I will be going to the
5th grade ceremony since my son does still allow me to attend events at his school.

So far the book is entertaining. There was even a part that made me think of you-something to do with having a brown thumb and killing all of her mother's houseplants. It's by Rhonda Pollero. Nice light read.

Okay, the book has little sayings at the top of each chapter. Found this one: Life is about finding out what matters to you, then doing it on purpose.

Congratulations, d! Excellent news!!!

How's the book, LUV? I'm always looking for a good book to read...

Shortie surprised us today. He came home from the awards ceremony with four awards. We'd asked him if he was up for any awards and he said, "No, so don't come to the ceremony". Well, he received Straight A's Honor Roll (for the whole year), Best 7th Grade Social Studies Student, Best 7th Grade Computer Essentials Student and (his personal favorite) Best Writing Student. He's usually very humble but he was thrilled with the awards. We're very proud of him!

Thanks friends! I feel a bit better now. A friend who works at our corporate office just called me and we talked for quite awhile about everything life throws at us. He's trying to figure out how to ship me margaritas and offered to tell my boss I'm taking the rest of the day off for mental health and binge drinking, but we decided that might not go over well. I'll just have my virtual margaritas until I can get one tonight!

I think it was good for hubby to find out what my mornings can be like-total chaos. I don't forget things, I get interrupted in the middle of doing things and forget to GO BACK and finish what I was doing before I was interrupted.

I brought a fun book with me today and plan to do some reading during lunch. It's called "Knock Off". A mystery sleuth kind of story with the main character being a shopaholic fashion slave paralegal with attitude. Something light.

Hey Rocky, watch me pull a rabbit out of my hat.
