Fun stuff, LUV! I signed up for the Story of the Day. This looks exactly like the kind of stuff my MIL loves so I'll be sure to share it with her.

Glad to hear you got the book exchange/sciene program stuff worked out.

Carpet cleaners are here this morning. I hate it but I do love the way the carpets and furniture look when they're done. And it gives the cats something to do after it's done. It keeps them busy searching for their favorite spots and starts the whole pecking order thing back at square one. Oh, great. It's true. I am one of those crazy cat ladies.... Aye yi yi... I'm just a pair of Birkenstocks away from being full blown crazy. Can you wear birkenstocks and drive a Challenger at the same time? That really screws up the heel/toe shift pattern.....

Now that is one hot car! One of our local Ford dealers has a red Cobra Mustang in the showroom. It's a bargain at $61,000!

We had rain yesterday, not enough though. Sunny here today, but it has really cooled off. We had 92 Monday and this morning it was 48 when I got up. Brrr!

Maybe you should have your friends come and tend the flowers too. That way it's in their hands as to whether or not there is something to take home at the end of those 3 weeks!

Got the book exchange thing all worked out. Principal just rolled her eyes and wondered why the teacher didn't come to her first.

You all have to check out the website www.storypeople.com . I discovered this artist's work when we were on our state problem solvers trip and fell in love with his work. I signed up for the story of the day and get a smile every morning!

Mornin' everyone! Cold, rainy day in Alabama today. I can actually hear the grass and flowers slurping up all that moisture. Ahhhhhhh

My friends helped me pick out some beautiful container flowers yesterday to set around the yard. Big open house on Sunday to try to sell this white elephant house of mine..... I'm sure it'll be the flowers that do the trick. ;) They asked what I liked and I said, "Pick what you like because after I move away in three weeks they'll be yours to take home with you." So, I only have to keep them alive for three weeks. I think I can do that.

Hey, check out this picture of me in my new car. You have to squint really hard to see me through the tinted front window but, trust me, I'm in there! www.dodgechallengercountdown.com/ I know where I'll be at 11:00am (CST) on February 6, 2008.

Thanks for the support Silver. This isn't even as elaborate as a book fair, it's simply an exchange-they bring in a book they don't want and trade it for another. It's during the school day-no parents, no big crowds. The science thing is an assembly that is going on for a good portion of the day, that obviously the principal wasn't aware of when I got my date and flyer approved, or at least she didn't think it was a big deal. It's such a perfect day to do the exchange because a spokesperson from the public library is coming that morning to talk to the kids about their summer reading program and how important it is to read over the summer and it will be the final activity in our in-school family reading program.

I have a feeling that this teacher put this assembly together so she is being touchy about anything else going on at the same time, but we won't be in the way, the exchange is completely voluntary(she didn't even have to send out the flyers if she didn't want her class to participate). The principal hasn't called me back to tell me there is a problem, so I'm going ahead. I won't be at the school next year and she won't be there either, so we probably will never cross paths again. May be a good thing!

LUV - obviously this teacher does not see the positive picture. A Science Fair and Book Fair on the same night is a plus - plus - bonus. Families will come to view the science projects with eager little minds. Taking a break from the science fair, they will visit the book fair and possibly spend quite a bit of time at the 'science book table' (hint hint) with those eager minds who will just have to have books to feed those minds. Sold books = more money for the school! If this teacher can not see the beauty in that take them to the science project that most resembles 'shocking you into reality' and help them out as needed. :D
Rainy day here (same as you Luv) perhaps this has something to do with the attitude circling the drain.

Having a kind of mixed day here. I was in a pretty good mood and things were going well, then I found a kind of snippy note from a teacher on the book exchange flyer I sent home the other day about there being some science thing going in the gym at the same time as my book exchange. Tell me how that is going to affect anything?! I also had my event and flyer approved by the principal, so I just left the note on her desk with the question, "Is this a problem?" UGH!
