LUV - that was so great! LMAO!
I'm picturing you with a cape on, a horse to ride in on and a staff (those stick things) in the other hand. What a great plan....go get 'em girl!

I'm thinking of taking the "killing them with kindness" route and supplying a steady flow of goodies. After they have become addicted to the sweet treats flowing from my kitchen and are in a constant state of sugar high, I will begin operation "Parent Freedom" bringing in small waves of cheerful but stealthy parents who will slowly invade events and programs with their helpful ways. If I begin to see any resistance among the staff I will withhold sugar and supply them only with celery and french onion dip until they become compliant. Muwhahaha!!!!!!!!!

Mmmmm chocolate. Perfect day for it. Thanks LUV!!!

Sorry to hear about your teacher clique. If anyone can turn things around over there, it would be you.

CC, does hubby not understand that some people are meant to go out and make the money and some of us exist to simply make the world a better place with our committment to community involvement?

Can't wait to hear more about your future PTO-our middle school PTO is not really active. I have thought for this past 2 years that it was simply the group and lack of motivation and parent involvement, but found out a couple of weeks ago that it is so much more. We all read the postings on cliques of parents, well I'm at a meeting and a parent suggest having sign up sheets at registration so parents can help out in more ways. I second this idea, stating that many times there are things going on that I would be happy to help with or send supplies or food. The principal then goes into this discussion of how there are "people who all have their things they like to take care of" and they just handle those things and have their helpers. Who are those people? The teachers!! That's right, we're being excluded by the teachers! I was speechless and that was probably a good thing because I was MAD! Next school year I am vowing to get that mentality changed. We're just trying to make the teachers' lives easier and they won't let us do even the smallest things.

Okay enough!! Pass the chocolate and we'll celebrate CC's passing her karate test!

We caught part of the Memorial Day concert with Joe Mantegna and Gary Sinise. It was good.

d, I'd love to hear more about your work and to know if there's anything I can do to help. Please share some info with me - This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. .

Shorty and I passed karate testing friday night. WHEW!

Hubby thinks it would be fantastic if I get a job after we move since we'll be there for awhile (awhile being relative...). I said no, that I'm jumping back into PTO work. He asked why I can't find a way to make money at it like Tim did. So, we came up with PTO Tomorrow and entertained ourselves with the concept, catchy logo, etc. Tim, trust me, you have nothing to worry about....

The new school has a good website and appears to have a pretty active PTO, especially for a middle school. I'm anxious to see what they're all about!

Hi Luv--no I missed it...I'm sure it was very insightful and touching. I am organizing a push now at the school to get toys to send to an orphanage in Afghanistan via some of our Department of Defense folks here. That coupled with the support from friends like you all for the Friends of Flett program and our "Bobcats On" program to support a children's home in Iraq during the summer--well I just hope it makes their loads a bit lighter to bear.
Great colors those reds, whites and blues aren't they!!!!
