At the Morton (IL) Pumpkin Festival they sell pumpkin pie, pumpkin ice cream, pumpkin cider, pumpkin everything. On a cool night some cider and pumpkin pie might be a nice treat!

Hay rides - even with a small Red Flyer wagon for kids, haybales with jack-o-lanterns for picture backdrop, jack-o-lantern contest

There's a school in LOng Beach, CA (I think that the correct city) that then auctions the scarecrows off

each class makes a 'teacher' scarecrow. kids bring old clothes from home, stuff a scarecrow, either with the real filling if your rural, or with newspaper if youre urban.
see who can make the best one/lookalike.

I saw this in Family Fun & thought "What a great idea!". We live in a very rural area, so I thought is wouldn't be possible here. I never even considered doing is at school. I think we've missed the mark for this year, but I will for sure remember it for next year! Thanks & good luck-can't wait to hear how it turns out!

Our local Kmart did a Trunk or Treat last yr. and had the local radio station come to d.j. and broadcast it over the radio.
