We do a free dinner. We serve hotdogs, chips, cookies and pop. It really encourages families to come to Open House and to stay awhile and meet other families. It's kind of like a big reunion after summer break!

We had an ice cream social the first Friday after school started in September. We had vanilla ice cream and sprinkles provided at cost by a local shop. The teachers traded scooping duty in 1/2 hour intervals. There was a raffle of gift certificates donated by local businesses. The PTA had booths set up so parents could join PTA, purchase spiritwear, learn about upcoming programs, etc. Everybody had a great time listening to music and playing on the playground at school. This was a nice welcome back for the kids and the parents. We are planning on doing this again!

I need some ideas for open house for next year
I know it is a little early but I don't have any idea if our pto meets during the summer any and I have 2 more meetings to get something suggested.
Kindergarten usually has an open house but I would like to have a all school open house..Something simple..Any ideas will be appreciated..
