We do Drive-In Movie Night every year. We send home flyers ahead of time to start making their cars. The kids make cars out of cardboard boxes, etc. Some get pretty impressive! So, we show the movie, have a snack bar and the kids all sit in the mpr inside their cars for the movie. We have judges who check the cars out during the movie and then we award trophies for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place cars after the movie. The kids love it (sometimes I think the parents have more fun helping their kids build their cars!). We spend about $10 bucks each on the 3 trophies w/cars on top. Seems to go over really well!

Please remember that you have to get a license regardless if you charge admission or not. You will violate copyright laws and the fines are steep if you get caught. Someone just posted the website to get the license. It's simple and very easy. You can just get it over the phone and they'll fax it over.

His concern is exactly why we have our kits. Our partner in Family Movie Night is Movie Licensing USA. Easy to get a one-time license or an annual license. Full details in our Family Movie Night kit, which you can order here: www.schoolfamilynights.com. Can also look here:

Good luck,

Mike

I have presented to our school principal the idea of having a movie night but she says that we cannot do it because we do not have a license. How do you handle this situation?

Thanks,

Audio question - if you had that good of a turnout how did you handle the audio for the movie? I am assuming a home system would not be enough for this.
