I would like to know where you got the film from and on what you show it. Please let me know this sounds great.

I love this idea, and just passed it on to our prez to add to our next agenda. I do have one question, though. How did you get the golden tickets in the candy? The ones that I have seen around here are all sealed and would have to be opened to insert them.

Glad your movie night was such a success!!!

We were thinking of this for a movie. I may steal some of your ideas.

Willy Wonka Movie Night was created by ShellyA
Just wanted to share with all of you the success of our Willy Wonka Night. We took the idea that was presented at the PTO Today Conference and put our own spin on it. We showed the old Willy Wonka movie and did not charge any admission. Kids came in their pajamas with blankets to sit on the gym floor. We were able to get hot dogs, pop and Willy Wonka candy donated at a very inexpensive price. So we charged 50 cents for a hot dog, 50 cents for pop and let the kids "spend" their Boxtops on candy and popcorn. We collected hundreds of Boxtops. It was a great way to bring attention to our Boxtops collection program. Families loved the fact that it was an inexpensive night out and the kids had a blast. We had "golden tickets" in Willy Wonka bars and the kids loved opening them to see if they had a golden ticket. If they did, they won small gift cards to the movie theatre, Barnes and Noble etc. Because we are a Catholic School we were able to give out out of uniform passes as prizes too. We received very positive feedback on the whole night. The best part was after the show, lots of parents grabbed a broom and helped us clean up. Thanks Fawn for such a great idea.
