Dear TammyB
Our PTO has what they call a hospitality commitee. We have people that we call for special events like this and have them make a plate of food for the occasion. Like a lunch for the teachers for teacher appreciation week or breakfast to them welcome back. We always have plenty of food sometimes we have enough for them to have the next day. Parents are usually very happy to help and they always have a specialty dish they want to show off. ;)

HI KIDSFIRST, NO THE PRINCIPAL DOSE NOT WANT THE PARENTS OR KIDS AT THIS ONE, WE WILL DO SOMTHING EXTRA SPECIAL AT ONE OF OUR PTO NIGHTS FOR THE PARENTS AND WE ARE GOING TO ALSO DO A SPECIAL TREAT FOR THE KIDS. WE DO A BIG OPENHOUSE, AT THE SCHOOL. OUR PTO DOSE A LOT FOR THE KIDS, THAT IS WHO IT IS ALL ABOUT. I DID TALK TO THE PRINCIPAL, AND WE OFFERED TO HAVE OUR VOLUNTEERS MAKE THE FOOD OR WE WOULD GIVE $200.00 FOR THE FOOD. HE DECIDED TO THAT IT WOULD BE BEST FOR US TO PUT IN THE MONEY AND HE IS GOING TO HIRE A CATER ANDPAY THE DIFFERENCE OUT OF HIS PERSONAL MONEY. TAKES ALOT OFF MY DUTIES. HAVE A GREAT DAY

It dosen't sound like the Principal is planning to include parents & students, but if they were invited, is it possible that it could be done as your open house? Just a thought? Good luck!

WE do a teacher breafast also. WE contact parents and ask them to bring in items we influence what they should bring when asked. we get agreat turnout of food. This year someone did sausages in a crockpot (great way to keeo them warm) We also had a egg bake thta was wrapped in an iron board cover it did keep it warm. . YOu should also look into chafing pans. I use mine all the time at school and home events. Good luck

YEah, me again ;)
I need you to call you local market/grocery store and look into trays. If that is too much, think about this- quiche, breakfast pizza...things that can be kept in those warmer pouches the pizza guy uses. ??????? yeah? no??? Okay hang on....man I'm stumped since you can't ask the lunch gals for help. Oh yeah, keeping things fresh...COOLERS! you know, the one you take to soccer with water in it for the team! YEAH, well you need a nice sized one to keep your fruit in but cut fruit will be fine if you cut it up the day before and keep it in the fridge.

You know what, I'll just fly down, Florida right? I need a vacation. SURE I'll fly down and help you get this planned....I wish
Tammy- please e-mail me. you can do this and I want to really help you. really. (I can cook and was raised by caters in a small town--nothing like Martha Stewart {my mom is relly nice} so I pick up a few things along the way)
seriouly.....e-mail me.....
Tina
