Wow, this is the kind of trouble that can sink a PTO very quickly. Right now, even though the secretary is a good friend, her info is still heresay. I would suggest a friendly and private face-to-face meeting with your co-president. Just say something like, "Gosh, I'm hearing some things through the grapevine and I'm worried that there may be some negative feelings." Approach her with a positive attitude and a real intention to work things out. Co-leading is tough without clear communication and division of duties.

p.s. Just as a side note.... I once had a fellow officer that I considered to be a very good friend. Over time, though, I found that her desire for drama and gossip overrode any feelings of friendship. I suggest you take anything your 'friend' says with a grain of salt until you really know what her intentions are.

We have a new PTO that is functioning really well. We have 2 co-presidents, a VP, a secretary & a treasurer as well as a PAL (on the board) and 4 teachers who rotate so there's always a teacher rep at the board meetings. Sounds like PTo heaven doesn't it!

We have had a really successful Halloween event with an unheard of number of supporters and helpers both from the teachers & the parents. The Principal has written an article in the monthly newsletter that states how wonderful it is to have increased parent/teacher involvement and an improved communication level in all areas. For the first time ever we have a standing committee for fundraising that are all gung-ho about increasing our funds....we've had virtually no fundraising in the past. And generally morale is high.

Now to the problem; I am one of the co-presidents and yesterday was told by the secretary - a good friend of mine - that the other co president has contacted her to rally support to have a "paper signed" to "remove" me from my role! Firstly, I don't know what I've done wrong.....I am a self-starter though and a decision maker and I can delegate....she is more of a silent partner and tends not to initiate anything, but when asked for her opinion she agrees with what I suggest, and has even said "I'm glad you suggested that, I was thinking the same thing".

What should I do....I don't know whether to call an emergency board meeting and expose her sneakiness & two-faced attitude, or to confront her privately, or ignore it and hope it goes away.

Please Help!
