Okay, hate to break up the party ;) but I have been apart of a huge mess like this and the best advise is Tim's. Your emotions got the best of you (as what happened with a former President) and the best you can do is let this pass. Let things calm down, talk with the group later with an apology ( your vocablary may have been more than anyone had bargined for!

As Kenny Rogers say-
You got to know when to hold 'em
Know when to fold'em
know when to walk away
know when to run

Sometimes a poker game can be related to a PTO meeting!

In regards to by-laws. Again, an angry exchange of words like that may be enough to make some wonder if this happened for this issue how would she handle other situations?

I wish our former President would have walked away after she offened the new Principal. She apologized but the relationship was strained the rest of the very long school year.

I am glad to hear that you were able to mend things with the [parents, usually you hear the reverse!

Oh Phil..... How far off topic are we now?

Silly, I'm not 23 years old - I've been married for 23 years.

I'm an old lady (41).

And this isn't about energy, this is about avoiding real work! Hubby is in our new town signing closing docs tomorrow. Poor me, my latest medical 'condition' doesn't allow me to fly so I'm missing all the fun. Thank God for Power of Attorney!!!

Oh come on now aOK... You know you have more in you! ;)

I agree with your line of reasoning and follow your train of thought. And I appreciate so much the fact that we can offer differing opinions in an amicable manner. Of course there are no hard feelings. If I couldn't handle people disagreeing with me, I wouldn't still be married after 23 years!!!

I will also add, that if the head of school had a lapse of judgement and did something as utterly stupid and egregious (I can think of other examples, not the same exact one of course), do you think the superintendent would pull the plug on her immediately without hearing her out? Same with the superintendent doing something outrageious, and the BOE taking immediate, similar aciton ?

No way, it just doesnt happen. Everyone gets a fair chance to be heard, no matter if the end result is clear as day from the outset.

Guess its the lawyer in me that says, whoa, that girl got the ax from the head of school without ever exchanging one word with her/him! What a sad tale, if all there is, is posted above. OK, THAT was really it for me. off my soapbox on this topic.
