Most rental companies in Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge only donate to local schools, sorry if my suggestion wasn't clear...I meant if you were trying to get overnight stays in Florida to try contacting cabin or chalet rental companies...they enjoy the extra publicity. I know the company I work for only donates to local schools. We have so many, it makes it hard to donate to schools or anything else out of the area. We receive on average 10-12 letters a week and there is no possible way to donate to them all. The contract most rental companies have with the home owners states the company is guaranteed a certain number of nights a year for advertising purposes, which would be the ones they are able to donate. Sorry for the confusion.
Auntjen4 - I have sent a request to every rental company in the Gatlinburg/Pidgeon Forge area. Absolutely no luck. I didn't get no's - I got completely ignored. Suggestion??
I live in Tennessee and work at an overnight rental company. Here, some of our best donations come from cabin and chalet rental companies offering overnight stays. I know there are a couple here that have sister rental businesses in Florida so they may be the way you need to go about asking for stays, contact rental companies instead of hotels, plus cabin rentals bring a higher price than hotels.
