The casket was a shoebox that my son gently placed in the trash dumpster. This is his 5th hamster and we don't have much yard left for burial! He is doing great with it. He said what a good hamster he had and when I told him 1 year in human time was like 100 year hamster time he said that he lived a long life. The new one is named Sonic and he is already at home.

I remember when my brother was 14-about 5 years ago-he was invited to an 8th grade graduation party where boys and girls where both allowed to stay the night. Talk about asking for trouble. There was also a girl in his class that was pregnant and I was so shocked. It's like we can almonst understand when a 16 or 17 year old does it, but what are the parents doing when their 13 and 14 year olds are out having sex. I wasn't even allowed to go to boys house until I was in high school and only because he was my lab partner and both of his parents where home.

Almost forgot, I am reading Sweet Liar by Jude Deveraux. It's about 13 years old and a romance but I love her books, even the 4th or 5th time around.

The irony of commitment is that it’s deeply liberating-in work, in play, in love. The act frees you from the tyranny of your internal critic, from the fear that likes to dress itself up and parade around as rational hesitation. To commit is to remove your head as the barrier to your life. --Anne Morris

Please don't mention fish at sea! The boys wanted to give their sister a beta for her birthday and I am so nervous! Once I get her set up with the fish tank inher room I'll be fine (she was 14 SAT) but until then I have her little brothers staring at this poor fish!

Glad to see the stew hit the spot! We are having 50 degree weather here so while stew always hits the spot, it's when it's butt-cold when it tastes the best!

After church this moring I had a meeting for the planning of our Easter egg hunt (March 19th!!!) and a Seder Dinner that we thought was the week before....nope, the Associate Pastor CHANGED the date on us! March 20th! Then to add salt to the wound, he published our home phones numbers without our knowledge! On of the chairs has an unlisted number!!! Not a great meeting.....We had a big party for our daughter Saturday, her first boy girl party! Everyone had a great time but I had a call this morning fromone of the moms. Well, her sone was just torn up about one of the gals tellinghim that she was pregnant! OH MY! I had no idea and when I asked my daughter she says, yeah but her parents can't know! AAAHHH. The friend is only 13! My heart is just tearing apart, but anyway, the boy wanted to find the boyfriend and beat him up! Sounds like she is due in April....should be an exciting/busy SPring!.....Our daughter did have a great party and got everything a teen wants...gift certificates!

Sorry to hear about the hamster, hope your son is dealing with it OK. It's amazing at how much we can do at one time, multi-tasking. If you're a parent, it's something that comes naturaly.

Hope you do get to curl up with that blanket and book, by the way what are you reading? It seems that I never get a chance to read anymore except for some magazines and it takes me the whole month just to get through one before the next one arrives.

But I do listen to books on tape when I'm alone in the van, what a blessing!

I'm here. Just got back from a birthday party. It was a long day here as well after my son's hamster died this morning. So we go out to try to find another one so we don't have to look at the empty cage. Pet stores on Saturday are horrible. The hamster section was packed but no one was there to buy one except us and I'm trying to keep my 18 month old from running after a dog and try to get someone to box me up a new rat to take home. I just want to curl up with my electric blanket and a good book, but we all know that never happens!

Helloooo, anyone here? It's been a very busy day here. I started out leaving the hous at 8:00 a.m. having to work at a Grandparents Raising Grandchildren program at work. It went GREAT! Very tiring, but well worth the effort. It's amazing how many there are.

While I was there I got a call from the yearbook committee needing to have a meeting NOW. Well it turns out that the company we're using will give us something extra ( I have no idea what ), but they were pretty excited about it. I was soooo tired that I never found out what it was about. There's only 7 of us on the committee and 4 of us showed up.

But the good news is that we finished our yearbook and it will be shipped out on Monday!

It's very important to us that we get a lot of support for this, because the Principal was very leery of having one this year. There were many, many problems with the last two years yearbooks, but I really feel that we've made some great changes and we've stuck together and have worked very hard.

So for me today has been a very rewarding day. Of course, hubby is tired also, since he's been with the kids all day and our daughter asked a friend to sleep over, so the night is not over yet.

Oh, such is life! Thanks for letting me rant, rave, and share my day.

Alright, beef stew! Can't wait and sugar cookies for dessert.

I'll help peel the veggies. When my oldest daughter is home on the weekends, we spend a lot of time in the kitchen cooking, talking, and catching up on life. It really makes my week.
