the NYT or WSJ (if i am not mistaken) recently had a peice on the equivalent of the non-cholesterol-inator ie rats fed hi cholesterol foods that were well taken care of (received TLC/lots of strokes and talked to) had lower levels of cholesterol than the control rats who got same diet but no TLC (ie were basically ignored by the scientists/caregivers).

maybe it means that kids treated nicely can eat more sugar and have lower insulin spikes, who knows!

nowhere have i seen the issue of sodas in vending machines in the STAFF LOUNGES being addressed, in any of the wellness policy stuff, its all about what the kids eat.

hey , arent teachers role models?

hopefully they ban those vending machines too, so its not a case of, do as i say, not as i do.

shawn, if the kids cant bring junk to school, will they police the lunches the staff brings?? lol.

I was talking to a doctor friend the other day and he was telling me about a recent study that found that if a person consumes a serving of nuts in conjunction with their intake of a carbohydrate loaded food, that there is a chemical in the nuts that appears to improve the body's processing of the sugars.

That could affect your 30 minute time constraint there Shawn!

Now where are those peanuts we used to eat then throw the shells on the floor in here?

Hey Rocky, watch me pull a rabbit out of my hat.
